Editorial Reviews

"I have a thing for sexy highlanders (who doesn't?!), but not everyone is able to get it right - Claire is bang on... I haven't enjoyed myself reading a book this much in ages and I actually sat down to start reading it, and didn't stand up again until I was finished - I had to know how it ended. This book gets five hunky Scotsmen out of five." - Chelsey of Pure Textuality

"The storyline of the book drew me in and kept me interested until the last page." - Lorna of Pure Textuality

"The story captured me and I read it in just a couple of sittings. I could have read it straight through, but... I did not want the story to end! The writing was excellent, the characters were lovable, and the story was interesting. As I drew near the end of the story, I entertained several possible conclusions, but the author does not tip her hand, holding the reader in suspense." - David Burnett of The Kindle Book Review

"Bethany Claire has brought readers the ultimate romantic fantasy in this time traveling romance filled with adventure, excitement, love, drama, and broken hearts. The characters and scenes within each chapter are filled with so much vividness that the reader is unable to put the book down.

From the Author

Hello everyone! I hope you love reading Love Beyond Time as much as I enjoyed writing it. When I started it, I thought it would be a single novel just to get the writing bug out of my system. Little did I know then that it was just the beginning for my writing career. I always loved reading romance novels, especially those that took place in Scotland and in a different time, so when I started Love Beyond Time, I decided to include those elements in my story. When I finished writing it, I just couldn't stop, so I continued Morna's Legacy Series with Love Beyond Reason. Now there are five full-length novels in the series and two novellas, and I'm still not ready to end this series. I'm having too much fun writing it. Thanks for reading. I hope you continue on with me through the entire Morna's Legacy Series!

More About the Author

Bethany Claire is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Scottish time travel romance novels in Morna's Legacy Series.

Bethany's love of storytelling has been a lifelong passion but, convinced it would serve her best to follow a "conventional" career path, she tucked that passion away and went off to college.

Fast forward four years and about six major changes later, she realized the stories simply were not going to stay tucked away. Months away from graduating with a degree in elementary education, she finally realized writing was the only career that would make her happy.

So one day in the middle of a summer education course, she got up in the middle of class and walked to the registrar's office and withdrew from the university on the spot. Since then, she has devoted herself to writing full time and is following her dreams.

I really liked all of the twist and turns in this story. Once I started reading it I read it thru. I was really disappointed at the end. I am really getting tired of cliffhangers. It is such a huge let down. Every author who does it has lost a fan. I will never buy anything of their work again. I feel as if I have been scammed. I can't think of any reason this type of writing has become popular besides scamming money from unsuspecting readers. I'll never support it.

As a third generation English teacher, it's safe to say, I've read some books. This, however, was my first true time travel novel to read. Actually, to say it's a time travel novel isn't exactly accurate. This novel is a beautiful love story that happens to occur due to a time travel situation.

For me, a book has to make sense. The romance, the relationships, the progression of the plot all completely make sense from beginning to end. I forgot I was reading a book and felt transported into another time and place; which is why we really read fiction, isn't it?

By the end, I felt that I knew the characters and I felt their joys and sorrows right along with them. I never once felt that I wish the pace would pick up or that the author had created situations that were cheesy or contrived. It just works! It works so well, that I am starting Book 2 of the series tonight.

Definitely worth your time!

Most young girls and those who enjoy reading historic romance novels imagine what it would be like to find themselves transported back in time to castles, lairds, danger, and love at first sight. It's something we all store in a deep recess of our hearts. Bethany Claire has captured that fantasy in real time.

Brielle Montgomery, a happy but bored teacher and the daughter of a world famous archaeologist, is drawn into the history and mystery of the decimation of an entire clan in Scotland. Brielle discovers a secret spell room in the ruins of Conall Castle and finds herself transported back in time through the centuries and thrust into the life and arms of Eoin Conall. Everyone keeps calling her Blair.

Fortunately for Brielle the household maid knows the secret left by the family witch and is quick to inform her of the spell and of what the repercussions will be if she fails to act as Blair.

Bethany Claire has written this first in a trilogy with the promise of characters that will entice, grow, surprise, love, battle, learn, and do whatever must be done to save the clan in the past and in the future. It is rare that a debut novel would earn a five star review and I hesitated to give it but I couldn't find a reason not to give it. I believe this young author will become an award winning force to be reckoned with in the romance reading and writing community.

Just because you're looking for a light, fun read doesn't mean you should have to read dreck. This book had absolutely no character or plot development. The characters were neither sexy nor clever which is probably because the author didn't bother writing any scenes which would explain why they felt or did the things they did. Since it's a romance novel, you kind of need the scenes that build the romance. Nope. Not so much.

Then she has everyone make moronic decisions about everything. I guess to heighten the suspense. The only thing heightened was my irritation. Nothing makes a hero less sexy than him being a complete idiot and let's not get started on a heroine who's only decernible contribution to the story is going back in time and introducing the concept of bras.

I honestly felt like someone was just laughing at me for being a romance reader and figured writing romances was an easy way to make a quick buck.

I only trudged through this steaming pile because I was suffering from morning sickness and have Kindle Unlimited. (Also because every page made me amazed that this got good reviews. If I could give it no stars I would.)

If you are physically capable of doing anything else at all with your time and/or do not have Kindle Unlimited please do yourself a favor and do not waste a precious cent or second having your intelligence insulted by this junk.

I’m a huge fan of historical romance (especially historical romances that take place in Scotland), so I was absolutely thrilled to be able to read Love Beyond Time, by Bethany Claire. The story begins with Brielle (Bri) Montgomery, a kindergarten teacher from Austin, Texas who’s stuck in a rut when it comes to her love life (or lack thereof). Sounds familiar? I was initially concerned that this story would be a rehashing of the same sort of stories that I’ve read before in this genre, and while it does stay true to the romantic theme, Claire’s telling is wholly original and just plain fun.

Bri and her counterpart Blaire are both genuinely enjoyable to read about, not to mention absolutely hilarious women. Claire is able to create such a natural rapport between her characters and the readers that, by the end of the story, you really feel emotionally connected and absolutely invested in what’s happened.

Not to mention her sexy highlanders. Okay, I’ll admit, I have a thing for sexy highlanders (who doesn’t?!), but not everyone is able to get it right – Claire is bang on. Eoin and Arran are two brothers that are in varying degrees of love with what they think is the same woman, and many of the situations in the book revolve around the misunderstandings that happen as a result of this case of mistaken identity. But both brothers feel like very distinct, different characters (where so many others I find the characters are just thinly veiled copies of each other) who have their own set of drives and ambitions – as well as motivating factors for love.
