Kay Glass has written a seriously funny book but at the same time there are heart-warming parts and great betrayal. A young widow discovers she's pregnant after the brutal murder of her husband; her loving husband is a drug dealing cop and is killed and returns as a vampire; and a woman framed for a crime she didn't commit combine to make this book compelling and a really good read. I definitely intend to get the next book in the Love Bite series. Love Bite (Just One Bite)

Love Bite is a wonderfully different story for the vampire genre. I love that Kay Glass makes the main character a "real" woman who's dealt with weight issues and infertility. Sometimes, when a character is too perfect I find myself irritated by them instead of strongly relating to them. This was not the case here.

Diandra is your average woman in her late twenties, who's just realized she and her husband of nine years have finally conceived. That good news is shattered by the sudden death of her husband Jonah. Enter Lizbeth, the homeless woman who discovers Jonah's body and also happens to be a former cop. As the two get to know each other and Diandra helps Lizbeth get back on her feet, they form a special friendship.

Things are starting to look up for Diandra as she carries the baby and falls in love with Lizbeth. Only one problem, her very jealous, supposedly dead husband shows up at the house and lashes out at his wife in jealousy of her new lover. After the attack she's got a load of other problems to deal with..a new baby, blood bags, fangs, and a suave new shape-shifting vampire of a mentor named Eamon. Let the fun begin!

I really enjoyed this book. The author does a wonderful job creating an engrossing story line and cultivating the relationship between Diandra and Lizbeth. She uses just the right amount of humor in her writing, and the result is an entertaining escape that reading a book should always be. I'm anxious to start the next book in the series to see what the future holds for these characters.

Love Bite, the first I hope to be of many installments to the series is one of the most enthralling works I have had the luck of latching on to. From the beginning you are off with a bang that sends you reeling into the rest of the story. The descriptive nature of all characters involved is only rivaled by the detail in plot and thoroughness of form. I truly enjoyed the honest portrayal and deep thought that went into the development of the characters relationships to one another. Love Bite is one of those works that leaves you wanting more and waiting not so patiently for the next set of chapters. Thank you to the author for such an intriguing journey into her world! 5 stars!

"Love Bite" (Just One Bite, #1) by Kay Glass is a vampire novel you don't want to miss. The first installment of three (so far) that depicts a well adjusted and happy couple that in the course of a day is shattered beyond redemption. The husband, Jonah is killed before finding out that his wife, Diandra, is pregnant. Jonah has been attacked and inadvertently turned into a vampire. A short time passes and when he makes his way back home, his wife has moved on, and taken a female lover. In his anger, he bites Diandra and turns her too. The subsequent misadventures are well thought out and are emotionally intense. The characters have been engineered to either make you love or hate them and before you realize what's happened, the book has become personal. I got involved, and any book that has the capacity to do that is a must read! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Great work, Kay!

I don't normally gravitate to the Vampire genre of books, but I was intrigued by the description, the reviews that were available at the time, and the knowledge that this was an indie author's first project (at least on a public stage). The story itself is fresh, and is not just a rehash of something else out there. I was immediately drawn into the story, sympathizing with the main character as changes happened in her life. The intimate relationship that takes place is normally not my cup of tea, but it's written beautifully, staying on the erotic side and not going into ridiculously cheesy. I was very pleased with the level of polish the work had grammatically, making it a very easy and quick read. I was left wanting more! Which I realize was the author's whole intent. Several story tracks are poised to be explored in the next books in series. I'm looking forward to what happens next!

Love Bite is book one of the Just One Bite Series and the first book written by Kay Glass. Love Bite is the story of Diandra Malone and her life as a newly turned vampire. This book wasn't at all what I expected.

The novel was well written and I was hooked right away. The author's characters seemed very real to me, and she did a wonderful job of giving us complete insight into them. My heart went out to Diandra's character. In the first pages of the book she appears to be a completely average woman who is happily married. That is, until she loses her husband in a violent attack and becomes a widow. Diandra befriends a woman named Lisbeth Snyder, who is the woman who found her husband's body and ultimately changes Diandra's life as she knows it. Another notable character in the story is Eamon. He is the vampire sent by the council to show Diandra the ropes and fill her in on the rules. I really like his personality because there appears to be a subtle humor and lightness to him, but you get the impression he has a darker side too. I really hope to see him have a prominent spot in future books and the chance to learn more about him.

Glass gives us a little of everything in her first novel. There is the paranormal element, some mystery, and romance. It is apparent a lot of thought and imagination went into this novel, and although the book isn't long, the storyline isn't lacking. The book ended in such a way that you are aware the story will continue, but the ending wasn't abrupt. The story still felt complete and at the same time left you with the curiosity to continue to the next book.
