...and you know you have to get back to it... that's what you call an engaging book.
This book did that to me. I had become so involved in the story, that I walked away from it and a few hours later I was still feeling like I was the one who'd just been through my first steamy sexual encounter, or like I was the one who'd been abandoned, etc. And I felt this compulsion like I had to get back to the story to resolve my longing or angst or discomfort. Well-written, engaging and enveloping.
Dr. Erica did a wonderful job of relaying the story of Cassandra's life, her anguish and sorrow, accomplishments and joy, and the people in her life. Though the book started out slow, once I got past the first chapter the story kept my interest until the end. Dr. Erica painted such good pictures, I felt like I was in the room viewing the activities. As a writer, she demonstrated a command of the human condition and a wealth of knowledge.
