Love By Accident is very dear to me.  Thank goodness I've never had to live through what Lauren has, but having lost my mom, dad, and a brother, I unfortunately know what it is to live with grief, with last words that cannot taken back and the wish you could just go back and do things differently.

I envy Matt his chance to see his friend again, to say a final goodbye.  Growing up, and still sometimes today, I long for that chance.  

I cried writing this book and it's my hope it can touch you as well.

Love By Accident is an entertaining story that I couldn't put down. Set in Jasper National Park, in Canada, this story combines the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, a ghost on a mission and the senseless poaching of bears. Against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, the heroine has to learn to live and love again after having the unimaginable happen. While learning to go on living, she finds love.

Engaging characters, beautiful setting and a well plotted mystery kept me reading at night when I should have been sleeping.

I will be looking for other books by this author.

In the grand tradition of "Ghost", "Love by Accident" follows Lauren McKinnon and Matt Skarpinksy. After 4 years of not seeing each other, they meet again at the Rockies in Jasper Alberta. Because of their long personal history, being friends again was out of the question. Yet, as they delve into their past, the two of them becoming lovers was getting more likely everyday.

A haunting story (pun intended), there are three protagonists in the story, though we cannot see one of them. Poignant and sweet, "Love by Accident" pulls you in. Lauren and Matt's pain and suffering feel real and you cannot help but admire them also as they not just survive their ordeal but able to overcome what life had thrown their way.

You want to hug Lauren and you want to hug Matt; but you don't want to hold their hands because you know that they can make it on their own. What more can you ask for from your protagonists!

Beautiful story that haunts you till the end. (this time, pun is intended)

Love by Accident is a moving story of love lost and love re-found. It touched on a number of issues near to my heart and brought old memories back to the surface. I was moved to tears of sadness and tears of joy. I read it cover to cover; I was completely and totally unable to put it down.

Beattie has a way of wringing emotions from the reader as they participate in the story. Yes, I said participate, you can't just read this story; you become a part of the story of Matt, Lauren and Gil. Their lives will touch yours, and they will touch your heart too.

Pick this one up, you will not regret it.

Award winning author Michelle Beattie was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and raised on her grandfather's homestead near Beaumont, Alberta. She didn't fall in love with reading until after high school and then turned to historical romances, mostly westerns, for her romance fix. If you ask her why westerns, she'll say it's because of the chivalry. Of course men in boots and cowboy hats didn't hurt either!

It took 12 years and four completed manuscripts before she sold her first book, What A Pirate Desires, a historical pirate adventure. Since then she's sold two more, all part of her pirate series. Why pirates? Two words. Johnny Depp.

Not one who likes to be limited, Michelle likes to write any story that pulls at her heart and bulldozes its way through her mind, demanding to be told.
