There are a few disco albums every disco lover MUST own."Saturday Night Fever". "Once Upon A Time" by Donna Summer. "Cruisin" by the Village People. And so many more of varying degrees of commerciality and obscurity. But this is one of them. Jean Marc Cerrone was one of THE people of the disco era with his sexy, string filled songs of romance, sex and dancing. This was his first album and features the highly regarded "Love In C Minor" as its opener.Starting with drunk girls at a club talking about the dudes at a nearby table, the beat starts and Cerrone introduces himself. Soon, the strings come in, and trademark girly vocals start up.The music is insistent, romantic and long...a 16 minute side filler, if you were buying it on vinyl.Over to side 2, Cerrone offers his own version of the Isaac Hayes penned classic "Black Is Black". Also a major seller for Labelle the next year, Cerrone does a great job of this, with the girls doing the vocal work and again, lots of strings and synthesiser. Finally, we end with "Midnite Lady", which has a bit of a stilted intro, but morphs into something quite funky and has some beautiful and atmospheric string work towards the end.Cerrone updated this song in 2010-but there was no need, as this song is brilliant. You will have noticed there are only three songs. It was standard for disco albums to have only a few songs: Love and Kisses had 2 songs on one album! But the music is high quality and in its day, this album was considered to be hot...the version I received has different artwork to the one shown, but it is actually better quality than this so thats good.Cerrone clearly has quite a fantasy of naked women, and the artwork shows a few of them, as is his wont. It is worth noting that another disco great Alec Costandinos was a part of this album and also Don Ray.I have deducted a star for the follow up album "Cerrones Paradise" not being included as a two for one type deal, thereby making this a far more economical purchase!

Love in C Minor This is a really good early Disco original recording from Cerrone. The title track LOVE IN C MINOR was written and arranged by none other than the masterful ALEC R. COSTANDINOS
and it is the long version of the original track. Mr. Costandinos was know for disco arrangements in the '70s.that would last the entire side of one LP record. The orchestration and mixture of sounds such as string arrangements and the disco tempo make for a very pleasant listening experience that takes you back to the days of true classic disco music! Cerrone and Mr. Costandinos make a great combination of two accomplished musicians. Thank you Amazon for offering a product that I enjoy day after day and that I play very often and makes me want to dance!
