For Lovers of Rock and Roll!, June 20, 2004
This review is from: Love Candy (Audio CD)
This is the best little-known band in the world, although I'm sure it won't be that way for long. I was travelling through Indianapolis a while back and saw this incredible band with a friend of mine. I still had their songs in my head the next day (usually that never happens). I bought the CD and listen to it cover to cover over and over. This is definitely one of those must-replace CDs that you keep in mind in case you ever lose your CD collection.

I miss my band, June 17, 2007

Thanks to you all for the great reviews. I wish the world would have embraced us like you all have. It was a great time when we recorded this CD. A free month in Toronto was excellent! We were very happy with the crunchy edge to this CD. It kinda reached a point we didn't achieve with our self-released "Sacrilicious" CD. We really tried to focus our arrangements, and prided ourselves on knowing how to write songs. I think we did pretty good over all.
We're all still in touch, and who knows, maybe someday we can do some "reunion" shows man. HA! We need CD Baby to do a box set. We have tons of unreleased demos in hand. Hmmmm...
We love you all for loving us so much!!!

Robin Wills Reviews Love Candy for Bucket Full of Brains, June 25, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Love Candy (Audio CD)
Love Candy "Love Candy" (Attack Records ATK -2206) Indiana's Love Candy have at last followed up their very promising debut album "Sacrilicious" with a second album that surpasses all my expectations. The feel is denser and sometimes heavier than before, but they haven't lost the melodic flair that was so prevalent on their debut. Having seen them live, two years in a row, it's been apparent what fine musicians and singers they are and it all really comes together on this fine album. A classic Beatles approach is often present, but is put through all kinds of interesting production tricks and arrangements, which never get in the way of the hooks. Check out the ultra catchy "Anything For Love" (a chorus to kill for), the ZZ Top meets Badfinger of "I Can't Let You Go" or the wonderful mix of Creedence Clearwater Revival and Beatles of "Mr Rain" for shining examples of Hook Pop with the power most definitely included! The cover of The Monkees "She" sits very comfortably with the preceding originals: "Insignificant" and the Posiesque "Truck Honey" are all in keeping with their successful formula, where a song always sounds fresh and never outstays it's welcome.
