About the Author
Jean Steiner and Mary Steiner Whelan are a mother and daughter from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Jean has worked as an in-home child care provider, a college writing instructor, and director of the Minnesota House of Representatives Public Information Program. She edited the award-winning Minnesota Tastes and Times: Recipes and Menus, Seasoned with History, from the Minnesota Governors Residence. Marys experience encompasses nearly all areas of early childhood education. She is a trainer, a diversity consultant, and an activist for peace and social justice.
