This very moving documentary teaches us what true love is. St. Gianna Molla sacrificed her life so her unborn daughter might live. It includes footage from her life and there are interviews with several people who knew her. The most touching of these interviews is the one with her husband.

Footage of her canonization in 2004 is also included. Her husband, who was 94 at the time, attended, as did three of her children and other family members. Wouldn't it be amazing to attend the canonization of an immediate family member?

The canonization of Saint Gianna is the first of its kind. She is the first canonized married laywoman. Many mothers have been beatified for their heroic virtues, but they entered religious life after becoming widowed. In canonizing Gianna, the late Pope John Paul II showed us that anyone can be a saint!

If you want to read a good book about her I recommend "Blessed Gianna Beretta Molla: A Woman's Life, 1922-1962" published in 2002 before she was canonized or "Saint Gianna Molla: Wife, Mother, Doctor" published in 2004.

This was a phenomenal video. It hits on so many levels I don't know where to begin. This should be seen by everyone. It's great for teenagers so they can learn how precious life is. It's ideal for teenage youth groups to talk about what real love is all about. It's excellent to learn about what it means to be a mother to your child, and a husband to your wife. I've also ordered copies of this video for new mothers, and pregnant mothers. It's a feminist movie which talks about how great the female race is, and how a woman becomes an excellent doctor. It talks about miracles, and how suffering is not in vain, but instead sacrificial. It is also important for anyone in medical school to instill ethics and morality in medicine. Extremely well done, I have watched this several times. It's also suggested for couples which are engaged and considering marriage. Not only does it talk about the love between a mother, her children and God, but also the love between a husband and wife and God.

Trust me on this one, I am not normally one for love stories...but this is a true story. If I had to sum up this movie in two words it would be Love & Truth.

The movie portrays the love abounding from a modern Saint such as Gianna Molla that is is hard, in my opinion, not to get moved by it. Gianna's self-giving sacrifice to her child makes us ponder what love really is.

My only complaint about the DVD is that I did not expect to receive an edited and (exclusively) English edition of it. I had previously watched this movie in another version (original Italian sound) with English subtitles and that was one of the reasons I ordered it. The Italian sound was so much better! I think the editing should have brought the DVD with the option of hearing it in the original Italian language, and also adding more subtitle options, such as Spanish, Portuguese (my mother language), Italian and French, besides of English. Excellent for the American market, not so great for international buyers.

This DVD was a huge hit with my teen faith formation class. I did skip the first chapter (it tells the story that the movie is about to tell) and the song at the end is little hokey-sounding to teens, but otherwise the movie went over really well. The teens liked the use of actual letters and interviews and were very interested in the scenes from the canonization. This was much better than most Catholic DVDs we have used and really made the kids think about how we are all called to be saints.

It's a great story but hard to follow. The Italian has to be translated but often is written in English and then it flashes away and goes to the next wording before I could read it all. It is a poor job of editing, I feel

This movie was not what was expected. It did not last as long as the minutes state. It was a loss of money, it may be worth $3 if even that amount.
