5.0 out of 5 stars Early 80's gem rediscovered
Big Break Records digs deep into the early 80's RCA catalog and pulls out this lost treasure from Michael Wycoff. Another case of every song being a winner here, but especially LOOKING UP TO YOU and the duet with Evelyn Champaigne King CAN WE BE FRIENDS are just great.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not In This Economy!
This album is why the USB turntable was invented! It has a lot of nice songs that nobody ever listened to (trust me, I was there) and ONE classic cut...$55.00 is a ridiculous price to pay! I'm glad I've still got the vinyl...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great underrated 80s soul singer, October 30, 2007
This review is from: Love Conquers All (Audio CD)
Michael Wycoff (born in 1956 in Torrance, California) had one minor hit "Looking Up To You" but beyond that, he's all but unknown. He has a beautiful singing voice reminiscient of more well-known masters like Freddie Jackson and Peabo Bryson, and like them, he uses it mostly for beautiful, adult-contemporary soul ballads. Highlights from this album include the slighly uptempo hit mentioned above, and the beautiful ballads "Take This Chance Again", "It's Over", and especially the title track.

4.0 out of 5 stars To hear samples..., June 27, 2008
This review is from: Love Conquers All (Audio CD)
I heard samples of the songs on this album and it sounds really good! I go to Vinyl Masterpiece dot com often and they let you hear some sample of great 80's music available as Japanese imports recorded from the master reels. Ohh yeah, remember that song by Zhane called "Hey Mr. DJ?" Well, this is the artist they sampled that groove from! I was like, "Man, that's crazy!" I didn't know until now, but this CD sounds good, so far. I'm buying it, you should too after this review.
