5 stars for the best 5 tracks, March 24, 2004
This review is from: Love & Death (Audio CD)
It's a pretty short album or you can just call it an EP, but it is pretty good for a 5 tracked EP. You can't imagine that this little CD has quality in music. I will rate each song as such: 1. The Way I Wanna Go: Nice opener and it is my favorite on this mini-album. Pretty good stuff. 5/5 2. Obsession: It was my obsession when I bought this EP and it is a great piece of music and the solos are great and it is good. 5/5 3. Dreamland: This is another good track but it somehow hard to be noticed, but still it is good and the vocals is somehow faded. Yet, I like it. 4.5/5 4. White Wedding: Yes, it is a Billy Idol cover and it is done in a good way with a death metal vocals and it is interesting. 5/5 5. Love And Death: Wow! Awesome and I can't say more. The last song on this short album and is great for a finisher. 5/5 If you want to get into this band then this is a good start. Buy it if you found this is an interesting band.

Great album with a Billy Idol cover song!, June 2, 2001
This review is from: Love & Death (Audio CD)
This being the last release for vocalist, Taneli Jarva, this showcases the end of an era. This is perhaps his best performance, despite being his swansong. These were songs lying around after the release of their Amok album released the same year, plus a cover of Billy Idol's "White Wedding." All the songs could have very well been featured on the album Amok. But, the standouts for me are "The Way I want to Go" and "Obsession," for both very intelligent lyrical content and amazing musicianship. This, despite being an EP, is a must-have for any fan of Sentenced.

Love & Death go hand in hand again...., April 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Love & Death (Audio CD)
I must say, truly am not one for EPs but I found this one at a used CD store quite cheap so I picked it up, and I must say I was NOT disappointed! Tho I really am not much of a fan of Taneli Jarva's midranged voice (he sounded ALOT better doing the death metal stuff), it does compliment the music well. Quite a bit toned down from earlier days but still a bit more scathing than the modern Sentenced machine the songs included on Love & Death are definitly worth a good listen!
