During her journey, Shaneeka is befriended by a twenty-something, high yellow blonde by the name of Veronica (commonly referred to by close friends as Ronnie). The two women hit it off almost instantly. Because Shaneeka is much younger than Veronica, she looks up to her and values her POV. Until such time as Veronica experiences problems of her own. That's when Michael, her new love interest enters the picture. He is everything that she has always dreamed of, and Shaneeka experiences a feeling that she has never quite understood before. She experiences Love in its true form.

This combination of instances sets this story in motion. As this tale of lust, deception, and betrayl unfolds, you will be taken on a roller-coaster ride of drama!

Love Don't Live Here Anymore- It Just Visits Every Now & Then is an excellent read.

Young Shaneeka is forced to grow up much too soon. Growing up in a dysfunctional home environment, she finds herself searching for someone, anyone to turn to. Her relationship with her mother is torn to shreds after dark secrets involving moms married boyfriend come to light.

Shaneeka is able to finally find solace in the form of her best friend Veronica (Ronnie). All is going well, that is, until Michael-Shaneek's new love interest comes on the scene. As this tale of lust, deceit, and betrayal unfolds, Shaneeka is determined to make it out.

Angela Weathered has done a good job of telling this story. No stone was left unturned. As you flip through the pages of this story, you will be surprised at how quickly you finish it. The story's momentum keeps you guessing until the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast Paced, June 17, 2002
This review is from: Love Don't Live Here Anymore ... It Just Visits Every Now and Then (Paperback)
I read the book in about two hours. It was very engrossing. Sheeneka told her story like no other. It was as if we were on a rode trip and she was doing the talking. If that were the case, no one would be asleep in that car! We would have all been like, no way Sheeneka!
For a while I thought things were gonna get better, but then the twist near the end blew me away. Made me go.. WOW.
So, I can list this book with my WOW books now and look forward to Ms. Angela's next effort.

Angela Weathered's success in literature started as Nubiangodiss with such well known short stories as "A Woman Scorned" and "Mr. Delivery Man." She continues that success with her impressive debut novel, Love Doesn't Live Here Anymore... It Just Visits Every Now & Then.

In this fast paced but moving testimony, Weathered tells the story of Shaneeka Spencer, who is a young lady on a search to find love and happiness. Weathered does a good job of describing all of the men that Shaneeka has been exposed to; while allowing the character to analyze herself in these situations. Weathered also is descriptive of how these relationships she gets into affect her life with her family and friends.

Weathered brings to the table women's intuition and wit that was previously shared in her short stories. The transition was well made and I highly anticipate her second novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shaneeka got issues!, April 7, 2002

"Love don't Live" is an intriguing tale about Shaneeka and the ups and downs of her whirlwind life; a life swarmed with lust, love, and drama. This is a nice debut by the author, and I was into the story enough to want to know what would happen next. At times, however, I was confused as to why Shaneeka was jumping so quickly from lover to lover; I wasn't sure who she would eventually end up with. But, I guess that's where the drama and lust cames in. In all, it was pretty good read.

I found this story to be of great caliber. Shaneeka Spencer goes through many ups and downs in different relationships trying to find someone, anyone with true meaning. Shaneeka is from a broken home. Her dad is a rolling stone, and her mother does everything in her power to keep her married boyfriend- encluding putting him before her own children. Shaneeka is devastated by the relationship that she has with her mother, and is therefore forced to find acceptance elsewhere. She thinks she has finally found it in the person of her best friend, Ronnie. That is until a guy named Michael enters the picture.

Shaneeka Spencer is looking for love with all the wrong people. She is a product of a bad marriage and was sexually abused at an early age. As a result, her relationship with her mother is tenuous at best.

Since things at home were bad Shaneeka looked for love and acceptance with other people, particulary men. She starts dating in her early teens and by the time she turns 20, she has been engaged twice, has broken up with numerous men and she has been betrayed by her best friend.

Love Don't Live Here Anymore..It Just Visits Every Now And Then, a novella by Angela S. Weathered, is an interesting journey through the dating life of Shaneeka, and is told in visits instead of chapters, which is very unique. My major problem with the story is that there were a lot of gaps. By this I mean that the author would leave off in one place and then all of a sudden things had completely changed for Shaneeka with no explanation. A good example of this is when Shaneeka begins a relationship with a man and seemingly a week later she is engaged to him. The lack happened more than once in the story and made it hard to follow at times.

weak characters. blah storyline. i read a lot, so if could've given it less than one star, trust me, i would have. it amazes me how this author gave weak reviews on stronger books, said they we all lacking in one way or another, and reviewd her own book as being much better. get real. talk about a non-writing hata. trite plot and bland characters does not a five-star review make.
