5.0 out of 5 stars Like the Movie
Come to Light (Everything), Always, and We Rise sparked the search for the songs after watching the movie recently; these songs stuck with me....so I purchased the CD. Jill Scott has done some insightful music and for me, this song I wanted to have. Of course if I get what I want, it's worth the price I'm willing to pay. Definitely satisified with the purchase.

2.0 out of 5 stars Purchased this CD for one song only!!
This CD is great for young teeny boppers that care nothing at all about the actual content of what they are hearing and just want some good party cuts.

I purchased this CD ONLY for the Jill Scott song, "Comes to the Light" and anyone who knows her music , knows that her style is the complete opposite of everything else on the CD.

This album is...

I loved the movie just as much as I loved the movie. Great well known artists on this soundtrack, such as Jill Scott and Ginuwine. No complaints!

To the music fan the name of the song is "Left/Right" that the cheerleaders dance to at halftime. This is all the info I have on it:

Written by: Ains Prasad and Obi Nwobosi
Produced by: Presidential Campaign
Performed by: Presidential Campaign

My squad has been looking for the CD containing the song for a month and no luck, so if anyone has any info where or if the song is available please advise.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay..., February 5, 2004
This review is from: Love Don't Cost a Thing (Audio CD)
The movie looks dumb as hell but the soundtrack seemed like it would be good. I heard the first cut, "Shorty (Put it on the Floor") with Busta and Nick Cannon in this hip hop class I'm taking so I wanted the cd just to practice the steps at home. Murphy Lee's "Luv me Baby" is a favorite of mine but I just bought his cd so I don't really listen to it on here. Why do artists put the same songs from their album on a soundtrack? We want to hear something new! Another example: R. Kelly's ignition remix...wasn't that on two cds already? Why is it on a third? Joe Budden's song "Baby Girl" is soooo annoying, and I love Joe Budden's cd so maybe I should erase the comment about new music on soundtracks. The chorus is just him saying "Baby Girl" in a really annoying tone. He should've switched it that "Oh" noise he made at the very beginning because that was kinda cute. Surprisingly, Jill Scott's song "Comes To Light (Everything)" was a little too low-cut for me and I don't even remember it. It was weird to hear 3LW curse, but the song was cool. The rest of the songs I don't remember at all. There were good artists on there, but only two songs I really listen to and that's #1 and #2. By the way, Nick Cannon put it down on #1. I really wasn't too fond of his lyrics until I heard this song.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Movie soundtracks of the YEAR 03, January 12, 2004

I picked this disc up on a whim and pure couriosity. I must say i'm pleasantly suprised. It features a few R&b singers who have been off the musical radar. The soundtrack starts with familar hits of the summer by R Kelly, P-diddy and Busta.

"Love Don't Cost a Thing" features new songs by
Nicole Wray "I wanna kiss You", she sounds great as always, it
has a brandy feel
3LW "hate to luv you", possibly the best song they've ever done
though i'm not a fan

Nivea "Exgirlfriend" another midtempo song like the ones
above, one of her best todate
Jill Scott "comes to ligt" a meaningful slow jam
Ginuwine "how far will i go" midtempo
Also it includes music by new artist..Jeannie Ortega, Hous'ton, and Melissa Schuman-former member of Dream
