Book Description

October 2, 2012 A Land of Canaan Novel (Book 3)

An unplanned pregnancy. An absent father. Can love really endure all things?

Danielle Kent is anything but Amish. But as destiny would have it, she has fallen in love with an Amish man.

Now she’s 18, pregnant, and hopeful that the child’s Amish father—Matthew Lapp—will do the right thing and marry her. She knows Matthew plans to leave his Colorado settlement for a life in the Englisch world. But that plan never included a baby.

When Matthew walks away from her and their unborn child, she has nowhere to turn. Her unlikely friendship with Levi offers some comfort—yet they have so little in common. This wasn’t the plan she had for her life, and she has never felt so alone. She doesn’t want to be pregnant. Doesn’t want to be Amish. Doesn’t want to trust God.

And yet.

God has plans beyond what her mind can imagine . . . loving plans to show a lost young woman that His love never fails but endures forever.

“Wiseman is among the best at writing moving Amish fiction.” —Booklist review of The Wonder of His Love

4.0 out of 5 stars Not your typical Amish fiction...it's so much more September 12, 2012
By Jamie
Format:Paperback
This is far from your typical Amish fiction story.

Danielle is an 18 year old Englischer who finds herself in love with Matthew Lapp, a young Amish man with plans to leave the faith as well as Colorado. When Danielle finds herself pregnant, Matthew doesn't want anything to do with her or the baby. He says he never really loved her and this wasn't in his plans, he packs his bags and leaves the community he grew up in hoping to find something better in the Englisch world.
When Danielle begins to think her world is falling apart her best friend Levi, another Amish young man, steps up and takes on the responsibilities Matthew Lapp left behind. Though none of these events were in anyone's plans, God works in mysterious ways through the situations and a beautiful love story develops.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought I was getting myself into another Amish fiction novel, but this was so much more than that. While it is set in an Amish community and there are some obvious connections to the faith, the story shows how the Amish and Englisch worlds interact and what would happen if the two intertwined. The love story was beautiful, it showed how one sometimes has to make huge sacrifices for those they love. I hope I get to catch up with these characters again in other books from this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Beautifully Written Amish Romance October 8, 2012
Format:Paperback
In the third book of the A Land of Canaan series, Danielle Kent is your typical teenager in love with her boyfriend, Matthew Lapp, who happens to be of the Amish faith. Her future plans are put on hold the moment she found out that she was carrying Matthew's child.

It seems that Matthew has plans of his own. He wants to leave his Amish traditions and live in the modern world. Danielle tells him that she is carrying their child, but Matthew doesn't want a child or a wife. In fact, he never really loved her at all.

Heartbroken and scared to death, Danielle has no idea what to do, until her childhood friend Levi, who is Amish, offers to marry her and raise the baby as his own.

I have read many Amish fiction books, but His Love Endures Forever is now my favorite! Beth Wiseman has done a wonderful job creating loveable characters and a believable plot. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Danielle as life throws her one twist after another. She's only eighteen, but has so much heartache thrown at her at once. Even though Levi may look like her savior, it is really God that lead her to make the right life changing decision. I loved reading every chapter of His Love Endures Forever and I recommend it to readers that also love Amish fiction and to readers that love a clean romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a wonderfully written book November 8, 2012
Format:Paperback
I received this book for free from Booksneeze in exchange for a fair and honest review. The opinion expressed here is honest and is my own!

An unplanned pregnancy. An absent father. Can love really endure all things?

Danielle Kent is anything but Amish. But as destiny would have it, she has fallen in love with an Amish man.

When Matthew walks away from her and their unborn child, she has nowhere to turn. Her unlikely friendship with Levi offers some comfort--yet they have so little in common.

God has plans beyond what her mind can imagine . . . His love never fails but endures forever.

This book is one that charmed the pants off me! I really felt for Danielle and her dilemma, and Levi just endeared me to him. I was so awestruck by his kindness and faithfulness. I loved the characterization Ms. Wiseman used, true to life, and I felt Danielle's pain as she went through this experience.

This book was a can't put down book, and I loved every minute of it! Although I had been unfamiliar with Ms. Wiseman's work, I am so truly grateful that I have read her stuff through the Booksneeze program because it has truly turned me onto a wonderful author that I will read much more of in the future. I give this book 5 stars all the way and heartily recommend it!
