Debby Mayne is a very talented author who brings her characters to life and makes you want to spend time with them. I was actually sad when I finished reading `Love Finds You in Treasure Island, Florida' because I wanted to continue hanging out at the bike shop with Amanda, Jerry, Timmy, Rosemary and Harold to see what would happen next in their lives. Debby Mayne drew me in at the very beginning of her book with her vivid description of Treasure Island. I am now planning a road trip with friends to go have lunch at Captain Kosmakos in Treasure Island. We hope to see Jerry's parents riding around on their bicycle built for two. Their antics and banter were a funny but poignant part of the story. I love Debby Mayne's style of writing, as she develops her characters in a story that incorporates romance, values, morals, humor and real-life hardships and issues. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading her other books soon

I purchased this book based on its favorable reviews, but was disappointed.

It is the story of Amanda Burns, a bicycle shop owner in Treasure Island, FL, and the relationship she begins to build with annual customer Jerry Simpson. Ms. Mayne does write a tale that interests readers in the lives of the characters and keeps you following along. You actually look forward to seeing how this friendship between Amanda and Jerry could evolve into something more, as you get to know them and meet the most important people in their lives. Regrettably, the ending seemed like a quick wrap-up to a story that had been building at a slower pace.

Love Finds You In Treasure Island, Florida is categorized as Christian fiction, which I enjoy. However, I felt that this book went a little too far in that the majority of the non-practicing Christian characters were depicted as selfish jerks. I don't know if it was intentional, but it was a pervading theme throughout the book and I found it offensive. I don't feel that the way to promote Christianity is by disparaging others as "having lost their way", but other readers may feel differently.

What a great book! I loved Amanda and rooted for her romance with Jerry. I loved the relationships between all the different characters. I laughed, I cried. Debby Mayne really made the setting of Treasure Island come alive. It's the perfect read now that the kiddos are heading back to school!

This was a great read, and if you have ever been to Treasure Island, Fla, you will certainly enjoy reading this book, as it talks of places on the Island. This has always been my home away from home. Will read this book again!

After reading the book, I really felt let down by the ending. It almost felt like the author didn't know what else to write, and wrapped it up as quickly as possible. Overall a good book.

In Treasure Island, Florida, Amanda Burns owns a bicycle shop that also sells skateboard. Except for her high maintenance sister, Amanda is happy with her life though she would not mind some romance. That is if annual customer Jerry Simpson was the other.

Every year he rents a tandem, but nobody has ever seen him with anyone or for that matter riding the bicycle built for two. This year when he arrives, Amanda decides to learn more about her mysterious favorite customer. She learns he comes to the island to see his parents on their anniversary and rents the tandem for them. This summer she reaches out to him and with the encouragement of his mother they spend time together finding love, but what happens when it is time for him to leave the beach.

This is terrific character driven relationship drama that showcases how a person needs cherished loving companionships. Jerry is close with his grandfather and his parents and them with him. Amanda has close friends, but would like to really get to know Jerry; what she knows already has her heart pumping with admiration and desire. Jerry is a caring soul who would do anything for his loved ones and though attracted to the bicycle store owner, he is shy on acting on his feelings. Fans will agree that love is the treasure to be found on the Floridian island (and elsewhere) as the lead couple, their loved ones and readers will affirm.

Debby Mayne has done it again. Love Finds You in Treasure Island, Florida, pulls you in from the first page to the last. Ms. Mayne's world building is amazing. Add that to character's who pull at your heartstrings and make you laugh at the same time and she's given us a wonderful book. One I thoroughly enjoyed.

Love Finds You In Treasure Island Florida by Debby Mayne is an enjoyable little treasure! A delightful owner of a bike shop meets intriguing bachelor caring for aged parents in this story of finding treasures in unusual places. The characters in this book all have a way of stealing a piece of your heart. From the bickering parents attempting to adapt to life with dementia and age, to the sister who just doesn't seem to have a clue, it all comes crashing down around Amanda's shoulders when Jerry walks into her bike shop.

I enjoyed the clever banter and the realness of life. The other interesting part was that the hero and heroine were not the stereotypical mid-20's duo, but rather finding love in the middle age years of the 30's-40's. It will attract a different set of readers just for the relatability of singleness past the 20's and how that affects their world.

Definitely a good, warm hearted read. Simply and pure with a quiet element of faith.
