I really enjoyed the story. The leading characters were easy to like, though I did sometimes find it hard to believe that a young lady in that day and age would have been allowed to speak her mind so forcefully to so many men without any repercussions at all. Still, that didn't detract from the story.

The one complaint I have came at the end - it seemed rushed, everything led up to the final conflict and then... it was just done. It was both confusing and anti-climactic. I don't want to give anything away, just sayin'.

Overall it's a pretty well written book - I really cared about Rosemary, and felt all her pain.

On the other hand, the inevitable turn around in the romance left something to be desired - it was largely unexplained and hard to believe that it would have happened so effortlessly after such a great and long struggle against it.

I guess in reality I'm conflicted about this book. It's worth reading.

This was an incredibly wonderful book. When I picked it up, I figured I would read a few chapters at a time, but once I read those first few chapters and was transported into the story I could not put it down. The characters were well developed and although there have been comments about Rosemary's outspokenness for the era, one has to remember that not all women were conforming to the genteel behaviors of the time (nor have they all conformed in any era.) My only complaint is that the end of the book seemed rushed at the end, compacting the ending in to what seemed a hurry to finish it - that kind of spoiled it for me. It would have been better to have lengthened the book or to have written a sequel!

I read ALOT. I look for books that are going to take me away from real life for a while. I'm fond of saying "a good book is equal to a vacation". This is one of those books. It's filled with hard times and good times, Hard work, loyalty, hope and faith. Its a "clean" romance book. It's not the kind of book you read and forget about. It leaves you feeling good. The main character, Rose, is a strong willed woman as you will read in some of the other reviews. But for me, she was strong in a believable way. Some of the other reviews also said the book wrapped up to quickly at the end. I didnt feel that way. Rather I was left feeling there should be a sequel.

I really enjoyed this books and the interesting dilemma that was keeping them apart. I don't want to spoil things so I can't go into too much detail. I enjoy historical fiction a lot because you always learn something about that era or even setting that is new. I recommend this book even if you did have to pay for it, which I didn't. I ordered it free on my kindle and was very happy with it. I started reading is last night and finished today. The femlae lead, Rosemary, was feisty, which I love! The male lead was her match and the supporting characters added a nice flavor to the book.

I got this book because of it's Christian background. I recently read a book of the same era and its religious beliefs but thought to myself ....... seriously there has to be better Christian books out there that don't make you feel like your being drilled and hammered with sermons! Or that there was any amount of chemistry with the characters .....Wildrose did that for me. This book was almost perfect. It had enjoyable characters and just the right amount of religion and chemistry for the main characters without going overboard. I really enjoyed this book, and I am glad I read it. The reason however that I said almost perfect was because of the ending. Like some of the other reviews I found the ending lacking. Not enough detail and rushed.

Highly recommend this book.

My wife read Wildrose and enjoyed it, she is not a reader but she really got into the story. The ending was like being dropped off the train you wanted to know more about what happened.

Really enjoyed the main character, Rose. Still smiling about her spunk, determination, intelligence, and kindness. The pioneering spirit, the heartache, and what early Americans did to make this a great country.

I purchased this book when it was on sale for $0.00. This was a page turner from the get go and I even had to sneak a few peeks during work hours.

The period piece had really memorable characters. The main character, Rose, was no wallflower, and I loved her strong spirit, even if her words got her into trouble sometimes. Even the minor characters were given a personality that made you care for them. Some of the "bad guys" and their actions weren't completely black and white, which was refreshing for a change.

As for the negatives, the ending did seem a bit rushed. There wasn't much suspense, and of course who gets who was predictable. But it was a nice easy entertaining read. (4 stars because I got it for free)
