I wasn't exactly sure what to expect when I read the title, but I quickly fell in love with this book. It's filled with helpful tips, cute ideas, sweet stories, and hilarious stories. I especially love all the examples of iPhone auto-correct trying to screw things up- I laughed out loud when I read them! The author really engages the reader (even includes some tips for you to try!) and has some great things to say. If you'r in a relationship, this book will really help you learn to appreciate your partner and make sure you stay together as long as possible. It'll also have you both holding your sides and laughing your hearts out sometimes :)

When I first started reading this book I thought it would just be more of the typical marriage advice. Boy was I wrong! First it was funny...I mean laugh-out-loud-so-that-people-near-you-wonder-what-they-are-missing funny. Pamela's writing style is so casual, it's like talking to a friend: a friend who has some great, funny stories to share about her own marital experiences; a friend who will share EVERYTHING so you can learn from the good, the bad, and the embarrassing moments. But amidst the humor and honest anecdotes she offered real, practical advice for couples who are starting fresh or starting over. I've read other books that advertise "down to earth" tips, but they really want you to do crazy, pointless exercises that might only make sense to some weird couple on a reality show. Pamela's suggestions are succinct and clear truly doable for any normal couple. I recommend this book whether you just want a good laugh, or some good advice, or a fun mix of both.

Pamela has a written a book that gives those looking for second, third (fourth, fifth . . . . ) chances at finding true love, a real life look at a work in progress, and hope that it is attainable. It's an easy and enjoyable read that gives you tons of real life examples, that cost little to nothing to put into place. Although there are many laughs included in the book, it doesn't come off as an easy fix to a difficult problem. Pamela shares examples of both positive and negative experiences and always comes back to the effort and focus on the relationship itself.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with the subtitle. Nothing about this book or the couple therein makes me want to puke. Pamela and Eric are NOT vomit-inducing; they are positively INSPIRING.
Pamela writes with her usual humorous and entertaining style, but she also gives us a peek into her marriage with frank honesty and transparency. This book is not only full of laugh-out-loud stories, but also practical, no-frills tips and wisdom for achieving a marriage relationship that not only works, but blossoms.
A great marriage takes WORK and a willingness by both partners to actually DO THE WORK. Pamela lays out how she and Eric do it in an easy-to-read and easy-to-digest way without overwhelming the reader with long lists of to-do's and not-to-do's. I'm still amazed at how much solid wisdom and usable information there is crammed into this relatively short book.
What is most inspiring about Pamela and Eric is not that they "magically" or by some great luck have stars in their eyes. It is inspiring that they have that kind of love because they WORK to keep it that way. That's encouraging because it means anyone can have it...anyone willing to work for it, anyway. No luck or magic potions required (whether or not it's your first time around the marriage block!).
My response is NOT to reach for a bucket. My response is to ask if they've ever considered doing marriage seminars for the relationship challenged. :)

To be honest, I put off reading this book until I read two of Pamela's other books. Not necessarily because I didn't want to read it, but because I wasn't quite sure what kind of LOVE and MARRIAGE advice I was going to be reading or receiving. After years of being involved with marriage ministry and participating in marriage counseling ourselves (my husband and I), you kind of get shy about picking up the next book about the marriage relationship. Especially when you've sat with marriage counselors who you end up counseling during the session that was meant for you two.

Anyhow, what a pleasant surprise! It was so refreshing to hear REAL honest, human advice from someone who you immediately know is definitely in love and willing to work hard at the relationship. No sugar coating - straight up, this is how you do it and stick to it advice. And, soooooo funny! I laughed and cried through three of Pamela's books now. Very entertaining. Lots of knowledge.

The author shares hysterical stories of her marriage and how she has learned to keep the intimacy protected. I loved this book because the author is bluntly honest and transparent. She invites you to sneak a peek into her marriage, the ups, downs and regular life issues, and shows how she keeps the fire going. I believe she shows us that no one has an excuse. No matter where we come from, we can all apply these principles and improve our relationships.

In a time when so many relationships fail, it is refreshing to find a book that tells us how to keep the focus on protecting our marriages and the love that brought us together. There is practical application along with show-and-tells, how things worked for the author.

This is an easy read but make no mistake and don't let the humor fool you. This book is chock full of wisdom and first-hand knowledge. I believe anyone would enjoy this book and read it again and again!
