About the Artist

"A tremulous effect produced by rapid repetition of a single tone"

"It’s what happens when T-Rex and U2 are exiled on Main street."

If New York City was San Francisco, then Brooklyn would be Oakland, California. Home to MC Hammer, Jim Jones’ Peoples Temple, and ((TREMOLO)). From here Justin Dillon and his band have launched their campaign. Moving back and forth from LA to SF, the band keeps a steady diet of songwriting and performing. From performing at the Knitting Factory to headlining the Great American Music Hall, ((TREMOLO)) works on their material and craft with obsessive compulsion. ((TREMOLO))'s EP "You Were Born for This" has had quite a go of it right out of the gate. New Line Cinema used the song "Promise Ring" in it’s film How to Deal; Capitol Records included the song for their soundtrack along with cuts by The Flaming Lips, Beth Orton, and John Mayer. "Evil Twin" was been chosen as the theme song for MTV’s reality based dating show "Dismissed", along with almost all of their catalog used across several shows on the network (Pimp My Ride/Bands Reunited). KLLC San Francisco chose them as their "new emerging artist". KFOG has followed suit naming them "up and comers" and placing them on their July radio sampler. The band has grabbed ink in magazines such as Rolling Stone, Hits, and several online sites such as VH-1 and AOL. They have performed at ASCAP’s prestigious "Quiet on the Set" showcase and are included on their "in stereo" section of their website along with Outkast and The Strokes. KFOG and KLLC in San Francisco name Tremolo one of their emerging artist, with their track "Evil Twin" getting heavy airplay and inclusion in KFOG's local cd sampler selling 10,000 in the Bay Area.

((TREMOLO))’s first full length album entitled "Love Is The Greatest Revenge" is the band at their finest. Forgoing the standard laboratory method of recording that is so popular today, ((TREMOLO)) prefers to record live in the studio. Performers include longtime friend and guru Steve Bowman (Counting Crows) on drums, Max Butler (Chuck Prophet) and Dino Meneghin (Liz Phair) on guitars, Kris Pooley (Janes Addiction) and Ben Patterson on Keys; with Tim Hogan on bass. The record was mixed by Joe Zook (Sheryl Crow/Mick Jagger/Jewel). The record drops mid July with radio support to follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Give her a listen...now, October 10, 2004

(REAL NAME)
Tremelo is a band which lays down a fresh sound - unlike every other band that seems to get lots of airplay these days. The lyrics are clever and thought-provoking and the grooves are rather infectious. This album makes you want to get down with your badself. Give these fellas a listen - you will be glad you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Infectious Tunes!, Great Album!, August 27, 2005
This review is from: Love Is the Greatest Revenge (Digipak) (Audio CD)
I have been listening to these tracks on a daily basis for the last few weeks!

From start to finish, this album flows from catchy tune, to memorable melodic groove....Song after song.

Some of the songs ROCK hard, with a nice pop melody (Can you feel it now, You were born for this, we are the new black).

Others songs leave a haunting melody in you head (like promise ring, wait up for me) through the use of a nice Slow Driven Ballad with intelligent lyrics and beautiful instrumentation.

I love this album. The Digipack and Artwork is also very well put together.

This album is a GOOD BUY! You will put the music into your regular rotation. I promise.

5.0 out of 5 stars There is a reason everyone is giving them 5 stars, June 21, 2006
This review is from: Love Is the Greatest Revenge (Digipak) (Audio CD)
When I purchased my Dell computer recently, I noticed a pre-loaded program on it called, "Instant Party". This was pretty cool. It had about 100 songs or more loaded incorporated with a visual effect as the songs play.

As I kept listening there were 3 songs in particular that I just kept going back to. After further investigation, I found that the same artist was responsible for the 3 songs I liked. The artist, "Tremolo". The songs, "Can You Feel It Now?", "Baby Blue", and "You Were Born For This"

I went to amazon.com and purchased the CD. I was amazed that they supposedly contribute 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this CD to charity work. It was apparent to me that this band has a greater purpose. I was amazed. And when you factor in that the music is actually really good, then you have a winner. This music is as fresh as it gets. I predict in a couple of months this band will take off to superstardom.

I will give you some of my personal thoughts on each song in the order that I came to like it.

"Can You Feel It Now?"
The first song and the hook song for me as far as being even remotely interested in this band. FRESH, energetic, unique.

"You Were Born For This"
Clearly the BEST song on this album. I rank it second only because "Can You Feel It Now?" was the first song to get me. Another upbeat song. At times, listening to the backup vocals in the background reminds me of the theme song to the television show "Friends", but beyond that, clearly the #1 on this CD.

"Baby Blue"
Is this song about an orphan? Very sad lyrics, although it has a driving beat and a very catchy tune. I can't get this song out of my head. And for now, that's not a bad thing.

"Evil Twin"
Very clever and comical song in my mind. Cool Tune. Nice backbeat. Resembles a Lenny Kravitz type song. "He's my next of kin, opposite of Zen, meet my evil twin".. funny.

"Promise Ring"
Warm, eerie at times, nice drum sound selection to match this song. After the first set of versus, during the break, I wish the strings would have gone right back down to their first note following the incline. "Hello you, Hello me".. catchy tune.

"I Believe (Love is the Greatest Revenge)"
"I believe in you I do I do I do believe in you even if you're not around, you're still in my life" - That's the catch to this song. Nice song, mellow, moderate tempo.

"New Eyes for a New World"
It took me a while to like this song, only because the very beginning sounds SO MUCH like U2.. and I've never been a U2 fan. After a few listens, and mentally blocking the U2 sound, I like it. Good drumming. I would encourage all of the U2 haters not to listen to this song first. Come back to it after you've been hooked on the rest of the CD.

AND IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER..

"Waiting Room"
Up tempo. Cool tune. It needs something else to me. Has potential.

"Room 139"
Isn't this a No Doubt song? The beginning sounds like something I've heard from No Doubt. Then it goes into this funky 80's sounding song. I almost want to sing "Come on Eileen" to it.

"Down to Beautiful"
Nice. I haven't found anything too special about this song yet. I'm going to give it some more listens.

"We are the New Black"
"This is a public service announcement". Kind of strange, but this is one of those songs that I am sure I will love in another week or so. Lots of potential.

"Wait Up for Me"
Somber, resolved song that belongs at the end, and I don't mean that in a negative way. I believe song placement is very important on a CD and this is a great song to end the CD with.. right before you go back to song number 1 again. Leaves you with a good feeling.

Overall, I found this CD very enjoyable. I have yet to discover it in full as I kept listening to the same 3 songs over and over and have just recently started listening to the other songs on the CD. I didn't hear any curse words and I don't believe there are any. I would highly recommend this CD. You had better start listening to them now, so you can claim that you have been a fan all along when they get big.
