I love Bolliwood and Mike Myers... So this makes me happy,

I have to say that I always enjoy the soundtracks for Mike Myers movies.
This one is no different. If you don't like boliwood and Mike Myers you probably wont like the soundtrack. I however love it. :) Huzzah for The Love Guru!

'The Love Guru' (Lakeshore) - Original Soundtrack,

Don't usually go for many movie soundtracks, but this one of Mike Myer's 'The Love Guru' barely makes my 'must listen to' list. It's okay and all, but nothing to get too stoked about. Liked the {too short} forty-second psychedelic intro "Morning Meditation", Brimful Of Asha's catchy "Cornershop", Mike Myers covering Steve Miller Band's "The Joker", Thelma Hopkin's soulful "Lead Me To Your Rock" and Danny Sabar's contribution of "Sabar" {featuring some good sitar playing}.

Another soundtrack without the songs you want....,

Reminds me of the soundtrack to "Reign over me" which had none of the songs done by the original people. By the way, the Elephant song was done by Chris Isaak. The same song can be heard in the movie "Eyes Wide Shut" which was an offbeat film that I liked.

Re: MagicPC
The song played during the "elephant scene" is "Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing" by Chris Isaak from the fantastic album Forever Blue... Despite abysmal reviews, I actually enjoyed the movie for what it is, great fun & Mike Myers is funny as usual...

Where is the "Elephant Song?",
By Tommy Lee (Caly) - See all my reviews

I also agree with "Michaels" post. But then all I really wanted was the song playing when the elephants were taking care of business near the end of the movie at the hockey game. Does anyone know that song or group?

Not so good,

If you're like me, you've seen the trailer for the feature film, The Love Guru about 50 times and you still don't know what the hell it's about. Usually, the way to suss out the meaning of any movie is through it's music, but oh lord, this is one soundtrack that I have to throw my hands up at. It's not enough that the film's star Mike Myers sings on six tracks, but when those tracks include covers of Dolly Parton's "9 to 5" and the Steve Miller Band classic "The Joker" (complete with Meyer's doing his "Love Guru" accent) well, let's just say the kitsch factor is overwhelming. Also thrown into the mess are Celine Dion's cover of Cyndi Lauper's "I Drove All Night" and the 1980's Robbie Nevil tune "C'est La Vie" but at least they didn't get personally mangled by Myers.

Say NO to 'ALBUM ONLY',
By Michael Breyette (Massachussetts USA) - See all my reviews

Aw, poor record industry, complaining about poor sales. I can't think of a better way to turn off consumers than the 'album only' strategy they've come up with. Talk about sheer greed. Well, I'm not buying an entire album for perhaps 3 songs. They could have had $3, instead they get zilch.

This soundtrack is fun to listen too, it does have it's moments but as with the film it lacks imagination musically and frankly more could have been put on this soundtrack but then The Love Guru could have been a camp cheeky musical, I am sure a lot more could have done then sending up Bollywood film making. A missed venture!
