This double-CD European import, culled from Al's years on the Hi label, is a nice change of pace from the usual single-CD best-of packages. The 38 tracks are non-sequential and they include many lesser-known performances -- both originals and covers -- in addition to most of the well-known hits, giving the listener some wonderful surprises along the way. You need to get past the careless inclusion of two identical recordings of "For the Good Times" and the egregious omission of "I Can't Get Next to You" and "You Ought to Be With Me." But the price can't be beat: the set is currently available new from Amazon Marketplace vendors for around $5 (plus shipping). Pure gold from the master of the smooth soul ballad. Enjoy!

The other reviwer said "I Can't Get Next To You" isn't on this CD and it is. "You Belong With Me" isn't.

Here we have Mr. Green's greatest hits on 2 disks in crystal clear quality. It's truly the essential collection of his best Soul and R&B hits. My only problem with the collection is that for some reason they included "For The Good Times" twice. It's track number 8 on the first disk and track number 13 on disk two. Wish they could have substituted one of these tracks with "Back Up Train" but hey you can just download it for a buck. Anyways, if you don't own any of Al's material, you can't go wrong here. Plus you can get it for around $10 from the Amazon Marketplace. That's 38 (really 37) tracks, much more than the 10 tracks on his iconic Greatest Hits album. Bottom line: Get This Album.
