I can't put this album down.,

I love this CD. I usually don't care for music that is so ghetto-fabulous and like to think of myself as "too grown" for that kind of stuff. But, I have to admit, this is what I bump in my car...and some of the songs even in my bedroom. = )
Shawty is the *** really grew on me on the radio, and when I heard "Falsetto" I knew I had to go cop the CD. I love it. "I love your girl" is a hit. "Nikki" is a hit. "Purple Kisses" is super-sexy and "She Needs my Love" is a major hit and I also like "Fast Car". My absolute favorite song on the CD is "Love Songs". This is a baby-maker. The whole CD is good, I love to bang it my car, like I said. It makes me feel sexy and cool.

Honestly, I did not see this one coming. This album is hot. Shawty is a Ten is actually one of my least favorite songs along with I Love Your Girl, so I thought the album started off decent, but once Fast Car kicked in, DAMN the album was bumpin. She Needs my Love, Falsetto, Playin In Her Hair, Purple Kisses, Ditch That, ... I mean the rest of the album was bumpin. The song for Mama was real nice too, no doubt, even though there was a lot of electronic sound in it. I think he's a strong songwriter, singer and producer. Yeah, some things throughout the album were a little redundant like the "ay's" and stuff, but that's a minor thing. He got some dance tracks, some good mid tempo to slower tracks. The album is different (and short) enough to stay interesting, but not so different to make it seem disjointed and more like a compilation. I'm glad as hell I got it cause I stay bumpin The Dream now, man. He didn't even have crazy famous guest appearances or nothing, just held it down himself the whole album. I wonder what's next from this dude.
If I had to pick out some favorite songs, I'd have to say my favorites are Fast Car, Falsetto, She Needs My Love, Nikki, Ditch That..., Playin In Her Hair and Purple Kisses... Enough? lol

The Dream- Love/Hate,

This is easily the biggest surprise of the year for me. Because i honestly am shocked i even bought this album. I absolutely hated "Shawty Is A 10", i thought it was the dumbest song ever. And then it started to grow on me, and i had some extra cash after i bought Go, Mario's new album, By the way dont sleep on that album, read my review on that one if your interested, but anyway, i had some extra cash so i went ahead and bought the Dream. And i put it in my car, and as i was going through the songs, i started to notice there were only a few i didnt like, and there were some i REALLY liked. For instance, "Falsetto" now if that song ain't a babymaker than i dont think sex exsists because i called one of my girls right after listening to it, and lets just say we listened to the song a few times lol. But i really hope that they dont over play "Falsetto" like they did "Shawty is Da Sh%*" cuz i really like that song. I also really liked "Fast Car", this song sounds so much like something Prince would have done its not even funny. As a matter of fact, this whole album sounds like a Prince album with the electro/dance type of beats with the roaring thunder drums. And the reason why i was hatin on Dream so much was because i thought he couldnt sing for his life, and i still stick to that but like Ray J, he uses the voice he does have very well. And it helps that he is a great producer. I mean overall the album is nowhere near the caliber of Go, Exclusive, or even Veteran, but i was still very surprised and he definetly won me over with this album.

The-Dream's HOT debut,

THis album is hot. I love this CD. The album is really titled LOVE ME ALL SUMMER, HATE ME ALL WINTER. This album is a sonic gauntlet thrown against complacent, cookie cutter music. He has seen people change like the weather, but he is forecasting a 100% chance of reign. This album is musically like the '80s. He is doing the "Umbrella" routine to this album. This album needs to go PLATINUM.

When i first got the cd I thought it was pretty much teh same as all hip hop and r&b out there right now. The Drean is very creative. its not like anything I have ever listened to, but it is a mixture of prince mixed with R. Kelly. i love his songs which makes me relate to certain things he is feeling and saying in these songs. I believe that he is here to stay and I hope that he sales big time. I'm lookin for a fast car too!! you go head boy!!!

We I first heard Shawty is a 10, I used to laugh at his voice. I thought he was a kid but the song grow on me. I'm not really a R&B fan but I love this album. Most songs sound alike but thats just his style but that why I like it, take his unique voice and the banging beats and you get originality. This cd sounds like no other. I have a thing for slow jams and he has plenty on here. So, with all that said if you like slow jams, you'll love it. If you want an escape from the average sound, you need this album in your life.

The Dream's songs "Shorty is a 10" and "Falsetto" received a lot of radio play. These two songs are very entertaining. Add that to the fact that he produced Rihanna's "Umbrella" and J. Holiday's "Bed" and you'll discover that the music industry has encountered a talented fellow. I enjoyed his debut album, "Lovehate" particularly because the production is great. His voice is immature in some places, but he hits some nice falsetto notes. There is nothing special about his voice, in my opinion, and he channels Ne-Yo in a few ways.
"Fast Car" has one of the best beats I have heard in such a long time! It sounds much like something Prince would have recorded in the late 1980s, but The Dream adds his own creativity into the song. I like the hook as well. Here, The Dream is comparing a woman to a car, which is a formula which has been recycled time and time again, and I grew tired of it a long time ago, but this song is still the best on the album! "Shorty is the S***" (or, "Shorty is A Ten" if speaking of the radio version) has a very catchy hook, good lyrics and a great beat. The beat, though, channels Elton John's "Benny and the Jets." "Falsetto" is another album highlight. The hook is very creative and the production is also good. "Nikki", "She Needs My Love", and "Livin' A Lie" are all OK tracks, but there is nothing special about any of them. Rihanna is featured on"Livin' A Lie", but she and The Dream in the studio together? A better finished product could have been produced. Each song on "Lovehate" is mid-tempo or up-beat, so don't look for any ballads. This is a solid album. It is not a bad album, but there are only about three truly memorable tracks found here, and the rest is average or just plain forgettable. R&B fans should benefit from it in some way, so go ahead and make that purchase. Mikeisha's Top 5 1. "Fast Car" 2. "Falsetto" 3. "Shorty is the S***" 4. "Purple Kisses" 5. "I Luv Your Girl"
