About the Author

In childhood I observed a huge love between my mother and father and promised myself that one day I would meet a man whom I would fall in love with head over heels. At the age of 16, I wrote my first romance story that was published in a student magazine and was read by my entire neighborhood. I enjoy writing romance stories that readers can turn into captivating imaginary movies where characters fall in love, overcome difficult obstacles, and participate in best adventures of their lives. Most of the time you can find me reading a great fiction book in a cozy armchair, writing a romance story in a hammock near the ocean, or traveling around the world with my beloved husband.

This book is very enjoyable to read and it's well written. Each page of this book makes the reader anticipate turning the page to figure out more about the main character and the baffling circumstances around between Blake and Mallory to keep the house away from being sold to a developer. Overall, It is well crafted to maintain interest throughout and is a rewarding reading experience.

This book grabbed me from the first sentence, by bringing the main character to life. I was drawn in to the saga with that sentence, and quickly understood that her life was going to change and she wasn't going to take the problems lying down. Mallory is a strong character, not a wishy-washy woman, she picks herself up and moves on without being bitter or downtrodden.

The author's sense of humor is apparent throughout the book, as one tiny mishap after another happens, some caused by otherworldly beings, some that are manmade mishaps. I found myself smiling as I read, this is a book that contains a ghost story, but it is more of a feel good story than a sad book.

The book was very good, Kate Goldman put her heart into this book and it shows. I am going to be keeping my eyes open for more by this writer, I am very hopeful that she has more stories to tell. I often try out books that intrigue me, and this one was no different. It is a good fast read that kept me riveted, unwilling to put it down until I finished it.

"In Love with a Haunted House" brings a fascinating and unique twist to a romantic tale. After coming up short in both love and gainful employment, Mallory Clark moves back home to discover that the old neighborhood manor that she revered as a child is up for sale. There’s just one catch that the real estate agent fails to mention: it is inhabited by a ghost!

Thus begins the tale of Mallory rediscovering herself, love, and the things in life that really matter…with a bit of an assist from the supernatural realm. Mallory is also torn between her competition with a handsome young man who happens to be bidding against her on the manor, and the feelings that she develops for him. This is a brief and charming character study on relationships and the human condition with a twist of the supernatural thrown in for charming originality. Fans of both earthly romance and the paranormal will truly find this book to be the best of both worlds.

Mallory's husband packed up and left her without warning or fanfare, and without looking back. Left on her own she can't afford to remain in the glitzy neighborhood where they'd resided, so after eight years she is finally going to return home.

As fate would have it, the house she always loved has come up for sale, and for pennies on the dollar. Gray Oaks Manor was built in the 1850s, but the once grand estate had since gone the way of Grey Gardens. Despite it's downfall, Mallory isn't the only one looking to buy. Blake Hunter is determined to own the property as well, and the realtor isn't above pitting the two against each other in hopes of increasing her final commission. Except from the first moment the pair met, it's clear there's going to be more going on between them than a bidding war.

This is a wonderful, captivating story with some really great supporting characters to go with the main pair. The writing is spot on throughout, really delivering both the chemistry between Blake and Mallory and the emotions the two experience with regards to everything else in their lives. In Love with a Haunted House is a heartwarming story about people and relationships, a far cry from what I expected from the title, but a welcome surprise all around.

While this novel was based on true love, I found myself falling in love with its well-developed characters & intriguing plot.

This unique story starts with Mallory Clark relationship going sour after the loss of her job. Causing her to leave Chicago to return to her roots in the hope to start anew by purchasing a house she adored as a young child with the last of her funds.

She comes across some interesting obstacles along the way. Bumping into Blake adds welcoming tension to her life and each encounter was so well devised it made my heart flutter each and every time.

The author had also woven in a beautiful story about two entities whose pure love for each other never fades and exists outside of time creating an unforgettable heart-warming story that I’ll treasure forever.

I am eager to read more from Kate Goldman and I highly recommend this novel to lovers of Contemporary Romance. ♥

This book was absolutely wonderful; I love the tension between Blake and Mallory, and I must say that you feel it right off the bat; and Ms. Shannon Lewis is admittedly one of the most interesting helper characters I’ve run into in a while- not only is her own love affair fascinating but the way she abandoned her son and grandson puts a distinctly sad slant on things.

The connection between Blake and Mallory is adorable; from her arriving at her mother’s house to find him on the couch visiting, to watching Mallory attempting to get over being dumped and their gradual getting used to each other, it’s clear that the two of them belong in the house, and it’s so cute watching them both get used to the idea.

Throughout it all, Ms. Lewis knows what she wants, and from helping to bring Mallory and Blake together to fighting to keep the house from being sold to a developer, she’s there helping things to work out; this is such a warm and sweet story about love and respect and the people and things we get attached to- I would so highly recommend this amazing book, the story was warm and genuine yet this amazing house and it’s interesting history kept things so interesting; for anyone looking to curl up with an amazing read, this is the book for you!
