THE STORY OF LOVE HEALS
Love Heals is a socially conscious family business based in Ojai, California that embodies a commitment to spirit, nature and service. The jewelry is handcrafted with the highest quality materials, lending an old-world aesthetic and craftsmanship you can feel. Love Heals has a long history of tying charity to the sale of each piece of jewelry. For each design sold, ten trees are planted in Ethiopia- to date that adds up to over 900,000 trees. Love Heals also sponsors malnourished children at risk of blindness and helps fund the research of autism.
Founded in 2005, Love Heals started from humble beginnings on an organic communal farm in Ojai, CA. The mother, son and daughter design team worked out of a circular 30 foot geodesic yurt dome. There they cultivated a loving work environment that allowed them to focus on imbuing the jewelry with the intent that would eventually go on to help give back in many ways.
Adriana Goddard, matriarch of the Love Heals family and lead designer, fled a military dictatorship in Argentina for London where she began supporting herself as an artist selling jewelry on Portobello road- one of London’s most notable antique street markets. Her roaming gypsy spirit took her throughout Europe. In 1979, the family relocated to Santa Barbara, California where Adriana set out to create a life for her family and begin her career as a designer.
Gunnar Lovelace, son of Adriana and co-founder of Love Heals, is a serial entrepreneur in technology, fashion and real estate. Gunnar focuses on designing and tying social causes to the heart of the business. He has formed partnerships with tree planting, child slavery and child blindness organizations that are a part of Love Heals mission. Gunnar collaborated with his mother after doing a flea market for Adriana on mother’s day in 2004. It was upon seeing the emotional reaction that women had to the jewelry that he realized how powerful it can be in touching lives. It had always been his dream to help his mother harness her creative spirit into a force that reaches far and wide.
