5.0 out of 5 stars Hidden Chamber of Wu-Tang, June 20, 2004

I have had this LP for quite a while but I put it back on my rotation recently, and I had to write a review on this. This was yet another sleeper LP from a Wu-Tang affliate!!! This producer has had lots of hits with Wu-Tang and most of the mainstream doesn't know of him. Mathematics beats plus the mix of emcees that was chosen made this LP a banger!!!!!!!!!! If you love real hip-hop, beats, rhymes and all that, cop this LP!!! My standout tracks are "Pimpology 101", "JustCantLuv", "Return of the Cobra"-which Ghostface laced for the Swarm LP years ago (hot track), "Hav Mercy", "Hip Hop 101" "Gun Talk" and "Pimp Party". Check this LP out, one of the sleeper albums of 2003!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid album from Wu-Tang affiliate producer, March 7, 2005

Mathematics has been lacing tight beats for the Wu for around a decade and did all the beats for this album (as well as rapping on 1 track). All of the guests on here are Wu-Tang members or affiliates and if you are a Wu fan then this album is must have to add to your collection. Packed with 18 songs (a few are freestyles), there is no classic but 2 near classics, 10 good songs, 3 that I skip, and 3 that are ok. THe beats through the album are definitely Wu sounding (since Mathematics did them all) and they are for the most part good.

#2 -6 (buddah bless)

#3 - 8.5 (Ghostface, method man & angela neal)

#5 - 8 (eyes low)

#6 - 8.5 (buddah bless freestyle over a tight ghostface beat)

#7 - 8 (killa sin, LA the darkman)

#8 - 7 (raekwon, cappadonna, method man)

#10 - 8 (logic, nemy, mad man, eyes low)

#11 - 7 (RZA)

#13 - 3 (poppa don -- sings the whole song)

#14 - 9.5 (great beat -- prodigal son, h speed, born justice, shacronz, allah-real)

#15 - 6 (poppa don, eyes low)

#16 - 9.5 (great beat -- icarus, u-god, masta killa, buddah bless, inspectah deck)

#17 - 8 (street life, buddah bless)

#18 - 9 (ghostface freestyle)

#19 - 7 (eyes low, boy big, buddah bless)

#21 - 8 (mathematics)

Mathematics drops an ill album on the excellent high times records. I check out everything the Wu Fam puts out, but the past five years have been filled with disapointment so I was not expecting a whole lot with this one. I always felt that Mathematics' production never matched up with the Rza's...I was wrong. This is a much more consistant album than any of the 'Bobby Digi stuff. Best tracks are 'Thank U' (DJ'S Versions), 'Respect Mine', and 'Da Great Seige'. Rza, Ghostface, Raekwon, and Meth shine on this album. Cappadonna is sounding kind of weak now...I think his voice has changed or something. Anyways, if you are a fan of the Wu this is a must buy. Dope!

If your looking for some fresh Wu, or just some nice New York rap, this is the one. Got it all. Real nice. It's got a nice variety of emcees on it. Queens Day is.....wooooh.

This album is way better that I thought it would be.Mathematics has been a solid producer for the Wu Tang, but the material here is better than anything for the Wu. Clean beats, hot samples and great lyrics. Buy this and you will not be dissapointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars WU PRODUCER MAINTAINING THE WU-TANG REP, October 9, 2005
By
This review is from: Love Hell Right (Audio CD)
This debut album by Mathematics caught me by surprise when it was released, upon hearing various wu albums he had always been one of those producers that had made great wu tracks outside of the Rza template and when I heard about this album I became very excited.

I have not been let down, there are some serious beats on this album not to mention some great guests featuring artists such as Raekwon, Method Man, La the darkman etc.

Although a solid album it has to be said that only one track (respect mine) truly stand out but they are all pretty solid and most people are bound to find tracks which they will enjoy in particular, overall this album is top and should be considered purchased if you are a wu fan and enjoy good hip hop.
