5.0 out of 5 stars Funny!, November 30, 2002
Love Hina continues in this volume with the introduction of Seta, Naru's old crush who was her tutor, and his violent, two-faced "daughter" Sarah. Seta is a weird character and adds friction between Keitero and Naru plus gets on Kitsune's nerves. In this volume, there are 4 hilarious episodes. The first one is some-what based on the manga story where Shinobu explores the deadly and confusing world of kissing with hilarious results. (The whole episode basically spoofs Japanese teeny-bopper movies) The other episodes are basically Kitsune trying to hide the fact that Seta is in town but Naru finds out anyways. Keitaro gets sulky and Naru tries to stop him from blurting out her secret about Seta!

4.0 out of 5 stars Getting better!, September 15, 2002

(REAL NAME)
I saw the fourth installment of Love Hina and the series is starting to pick up. See Shinobu learn how to kiss! See the great play "Monkey's Journey To The West" turn to chaos by the Love Hina gang! See the lost Turtle empire! All this and more punishment for Keitaro. By the way,Kitsune is from the Kansei region of Japan, where Osaka and Kyoto are. The people there speak Japanese a little differently:Sainara for Sayanara. So Kitsune got the Southern accent so she would stand out vocally. Got It?

4.0 out of 5 stars Summer time..., March 13, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Kissing, ancient turtle civilizations, the return of an old flame and plays by the seashore. Sounds harmless, right? But what if it's Kaolla trying to kiss other girls? And what if that civilization is still around and not so ancient? And what if that old flame happens to be a Tokyo U Professor Naru had very strong feelings for?
I won't even get into details about the play,'Journey To The West', that seems to do more damage than a atomic bomb.
Best part of the DVD is the extra, 'The Making of Love Hina', starring Wendee Lee - voice actress and ADR director. But even then I could only give it four stars. The episodes are starting to get old.

5.0 out of 5 stars A trip to the beach, January 4, 2003
By
Aozame (In the Trees) - See all my reviews
The volume begins with what is one of the most bizarre parts of the manga: Shinobu's wanting to get her first kiss. Though it doesn't turn out the way she wants it to, it could have ended much worse. The next episodes involve some of the wierdest scenes in the anime. Seta, Naru's old tutor, returns to Japan and Kitsune does everything in her power to keep the two from meeting, with hilarious results. Keitaro, meanwhile, has been employed by Seta as an assistant, and has to deal with Seta's bratty daughter Sara McDougal. In the next episode, Sara is forced to stay at the Hinata Apartments while Seta's woking on an archaeological dig, and gets into all sorts of trouble. I won't say anything other than an army of robot turtles is involved somehow.

The final episode is the best one. It's summer, and the residents of the Apartments go to the beach to work at the Hinata Seaside Teahouse. They perform the play "Journey to the West" (the play that Dragon Ball was loosely based on, by the way) and end up destroying the teahouse. Seta finds them a new place to perform the play if he can be in it, and Seta and Motoko end up having an eye-blurring fight that is awesome to watch.

Despite the fact that my favorite character only appears in a flashback of sorts in this volume, it's still awfully good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can it get any crazier?...Sure!...It's anime!, August 28, 2002

Number four in the Love Hina series continues the antics from the previous issues, I'm happy to say.
In this release, Shinobu's curiosity and Su's technological creations combine in a kiss fest that ends in the birth of a friendship. Mr. Seta, Naru's old tutor/crush, appears with a young girl who calls him "dad", and Kitsune attempts to keep Naru from learning about his return. (Sara, the girl with Seta, treats Keitaro like a punching bag most of the time.) As you would expect, Naru and Seta are reunited, and Keitaro faces another hurdle between he and Naru. He, of course, makes the best of it by revealing that Naru loves Mr. Seta? This leads to a dramatic confrontation between the rivals during a Urashima family stage production. In the end, the hero (Keitaro) doesn't save the girl (Naru). She escapes and clobbers him, which is as it should be. Afterall, they are in love right?
Another wonderfully funny installment with more silly escapades and crazy situations tempered by the relationships between the characters. I can't wait for the next release...which is set for LATE OCTOBER?...ARGH!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Agree!, July 31, 2002
By
"xgl49k" (Maryland, USA and Proud of it!) - See all my reviews
I really like this series! It's great! A must see for all ages. One of the greatest in all time. The story is funny showing how a lucky, but at the same time unlucky guy like Keitaro ends up being the landlord of a girl's dormitory! YES, YOU HEARD ME! LANDLORD OF A GIRL'S DORM! How lucky can you get, but the girls in that dorm all think he's quite well, um... naughty, but he's actually innocent. Naru and Keitaro are both trying to get into Tokyo University after they flunked the latest entrance exam. This time we see a new character in the development of the story. Mr. Seta is a tutor of Naru's from her High School years. She had a cruch on him then got over him and now she fell for him again. Poor Keitaro. He's worried about Naru and her studies. Yet, again Keitaro finds himself competing for Naru again. Hey, If I were him I would compete for Naru until the end. Okay, enough about that. Just get this DVD or if you don't then get the whole series. The first 3 DVD volumes sre out and I have the volume #1 and 2. Am I lucky or what? I'm certainly going to get this one. It can't get better than that well, um... maybe not.

5.0 out of 5 stars This wasn't exactly the best dvd of the series....., May 17, 2005
By
This review is from: Love Hina, Volume 4: Love Hurts (Episodes 13-16) (DVD)
Aside from whats happen they start to bring in comic relief in this dvd. It starts with Shinobu wondering what a kiss would be like. Turns out the first person she kisses isn't exact the person she wanted. They intoduce another character into the series. Seta was Naru's old tutor in high school and she had a major crush on him. The problem is watching her act around her professor and around Keitaro. The last episode has got to be one of the most hillarious episodes on the dvd. When Keitaro and Naru do a play lets just say that Keitaro(being the klutz that he is) does something and ends up getting knocked out for it. Other than that if you have enjoyed the series up to now then you'll enjoy this dvd!!!
