An awesome ending to an awesome series,
By
This review is from: Love Hina, Vol. 14 (Paperback)
PLOT SUMMARY (for those who may not have read this installment yet):Keitaro, Naru, and the rest of the Hinata crew head home from Molmol to confront Grandma Hinata about the mysterious fax she sent for Keitaro. However, things don't go like they were supposed to (when do they ever with this bunch?) and Keitaro ends up losing his chance to finally find out the identity of his promise girl. Complicating things more are a surprise visit from a long-unseen friend with startling news for Keitaro, and Naru running headlong into her old insecurities about whether or not she's the promise girl, which cause her to break things off with Keitaro. Will the hapless couple ever reach a resolution? You'll just have to read and find out. ;-) Wow. After all this time, it's finally over. This is an excellent final chapter to Love Hina, and although it leaves some minor character details unresolved, it wraps up all the major storylines beautifully and gives Keitaro and Naru time to really shine. The last few pages of the main story are a textbook example of a great ending, and the epilogue is both a hilarious re-working of Love Hina's beginning and a big step towards a new future for all of the characters. Ken, wherever you are, my hat is off to you for a job VERY well done.

Unfortunately, all things must come to an end...,

Well, if you are reading this review, you've probably bought the first thirteen books of Love Hina already. What the heck are you still thinking about?!! Just buy it! Might as well finish the series. As many others will agree with me, Love Hina is the best Manga series out there! Although, I've only read Love Hina and Chobits so far, I think I will have a hard time finding another Manga series that's better than LH.... I know that it's kinda sad to see the story end, but we all knew that it had to. I guess it will just have to be up to our imagination to continue on the story... Well what's the story about? Basically, Keitaro and Naru face their final obstacles from being together. Keitaro might leave again for archaeology work and Naru is still doubting that their relationship will work because she is worrying that she is not the promise girl. Now that I have the whole collection...I can read the whole story a thousand times over!! P.S. Watch the anime...although it's not as good as the manga

Excellent,
This review is from: Love Hina, Vol. 14 (Paperback)
I borrowed the Love Hina manga collection from my friend and after reading the first volume, I instantly got hooked. Reading 5 volumes a day. It just kept wanting to find out what happened next. Bieng a romance comedy and me bieng a guy, I doubt I would enjoy that but this manga series has become ome of my top 5. I was so sad to see it end. Did I cry? Heck yah. It was a great ending to a great manga series. I knew you had it in you, Keitaro!!

Very good condition with just a minor marker spot along the top of the book. Overall very satisfied to find it in this good of shape.

Epic!,
This review is from: Love Hina, Vol. 14 (Paperback)
The best manga series out of all 26 Japanese manga that I read and the most influential, the ending's got me really emotional, but thank god that Ken got his 3rd manga series published, helped alleviate the pain a little bit.

Ken Akamatsu, Love Hina vol. 14 (Tokyopop, 2003)
And so we come to the end of Love Hina, and man, am I sorry to see it go. It ended up becoming one of my favorite manga series over the months I read it, and the final volume was no exception. There were, as there always seem to be in final volumes, a few too many loose ends tied up far more abruptly than they should be, but the book still has a great sense of humor and a strong story arc (especially since it's an abbreviated volume, with teo epilogues featuring a new guest at Hinata House taking up the remainder of the space). This volume's question, of course, is whether Keitaro and Naru are finally going to get hitched, but as always, there's something in the way--Keitaro's discoveries over the past volumes combined with Seta's retirement, have led to the Joint Tokyo University-Pararakelse Archaeology Committee extending Keitaro a job offer. Can Naru give up her dreams of being with him in order to cheer on Keitaro's dreams? (It did make me wonder why she couldn't just go with him.) A wonderful series comes to a strong end. Definitely worthwhile. ****

This great manga series comes to a satisfying conclusion. True love wins out, and all that jazz. If you read the first 13 books in this series, you know you have to find out how it ends.

I can only hope that there's some sort of sequel...,
This review is from: Love Hina, Vol. 14 (Paperback)
SPOILER WARNING
I'm not usually one to get emotional over manga or anything, but the end affected me realy strongly (especially the part with the time capsule). Keitaro and Naru get married (which the cover kind of gives away, but whatever), and maybe they get to finally "do it" without being interrupted. ;) Anyway, I hear there's a manga sequel coming out in Japan. Maybe untrue but I can only hope... |
