4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Follow Up... February 3, 2013
By Kev
Format:MP3 Music
...to his "The Whole Truth" album.

Now I must admit that I downloaded this album the same day as downloading Sho Baraka's Talented: 10th.

due to that the 10th kind of over-powered my thoughts for a few days, so to be fair I let "Love, Hope,War" sit in the IPod for a while. I started listening to it about 2 days ago and with a clear mind I can give this joint 4.0 stars.

While I can understand Sho's desire to submit material that could possibly make it to commercial radio, because his lyrics dealt more with Social Commentary versus Christian Lifestyle, thoughts and ethics, in contrast, NOT comparison, Da Truth (Da' Truth, Da T.R.U.T.H) stays on topic.

Meaning: this album keeps on topic of All Jesus everything! (Shout out to Fedel.)

If you want only singles to download then I suggest: D.O.S, J.I.F.E, Hope, Peace Talks (f. Swoope), Table Talks, Hunger Games, Real Love, Ugly Love, What About (f Christon Gray)

Basically the whole album is good enough to get, but the above really grabbed me on the first or second listen.

"J.I.F.E" is a banger though !!! wow, dig into the lyrics if you can. "Hope" is a banger too. (Flame, Trip Lee and Thi'sl),the track "Table Talk" is a thought-provoking commentary on many of us Believers compromising the Truth of Scripture in a world increasing in its hostility towards Jesus and His church.

4.0 out of 5 stars Da Truth - Love, Hope & War May 19, 2013
By Kory
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
1. D.O.S. (Death of Silence) - Bangin' way to start of the album. 5/5
2. Hunger Games - Another banger. 5/5
3. Where I Was - Da Truth tells a deep story on this track. 5/5
4. The City (feat. B.Reith) - Good song. 5/5
5. J.I.F.E. - Jesus Is For Everybody, Da Truth does it again.
6. Real Love - An ok track. 3/5
7. Ugly Love - This track is on point. 4.5/5
8. Hope (feat. Thi'sl, Flame & Trip Lee) - Thi'sl destroys the vocals on this track and Da Truth, Flame and Trip Lee top it off, favorite from the album. 5/5
9. The G.O.A.T. - The Greatest of All Time, better than Real Love, but not as good as J.I.F.E., Hope, Hunger Games or D.O.S.. 4.5/5
10. Peace Talks (feat. Swoope) - Another quality track. 5/5
11. Table Talk - Da Truth digs deep into some controverial subject matter on this track. 4.5/5
12. What About Love (feat. Christon Gray) - Christon destroys the vocals on this track and Da Truth ends his most consistent album to date (in my opinion) on a amazing track.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thought Provoking March 4, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
After listening to this album, I had to do a self evaluation. Da' Truth really hits on all three aspects of the title. For instance, he talks about what love really is in the sight of God and how Christians need to show it at all times. This will help us stand out and maybe show people what this Jesus that we rant and rave about is really like. He touches on Hope and how as Christians, not only do we have hope in Jesus Christ but how we give hope to everyone around the world. Finally, he talks about war. Not only war with ourselves like the usual but war for our Christianity. The sign of the times are very prevalent right now. People really really despise Christians. Even so, we must still fight! All day everyday. Our greatest weapons are Love and Hope!

3.0 out of 5 stars ok at best February 12, 2014
By DJ
Format:Audio CD
The message is great, but lets be honest. Most christian rappers get a 5 for message. Da Truth's album musically is average. I always felt his flow was never too sharp, so he relied on his wordplay and beats. Well, a lot of these songs sound like secular beats I've heard in the past, and his wordplay/messages, while pure, are not very though-provoking. Hope is a good song, but its a tad shallow compared to the highlights of other big rappers, and the rest dont stand up. Just download that one, its good.

3.0 out of 5 stars Alright... June 30, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
To be honest, I had high expectations for this album. When I first heard it I wasn't too impressed. I did warm up to it more and it is a good production but...after these few months I can't remember the last time that I listened to it. It's unfortunate but to me there is better out there. Definitely some good songs, especially love J.I.F.E!

3.0 out of 5 stars okay, but disappointed!!! June 17, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
did not like the flow that much, the beats have to grow on you, and maybe by the 10 time you listed to it you might start to like one or two songs...the lyrics are just ok, and that is not good for Da TRUTH".i expect sooooo much more...sorry!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars O.M.goodness! May 5, 2013

Da Truth left it all on the "Table" with this project. I've always enjoyed his talent and skill to deliver Christ to the culture. Nothing short of amazingly inspiring this album goes all in! Get this album. Love, Hope, & War will always be in rotation on my iPod!
