Still trying to get her "stride" at Arista, Aretha's second release for the company is in many ways similar to the first. It is a 60/40 composition with overly-produced tracks that do not serve the artist as well as the simpler accompaniment of her Atlantic years. But, that withstanding, there are still some winners here. The first track, a ballad with George Benson, is sensitive and the two artists do well together. There are three covers (Sam & Dave's "Hold On, I'm Comin', The Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get Want You Want," and Diana Ross's "It's My Turn") which goes to show that Aretha, like Luther Vandross, can take another's song and make it uniquely hers. "Living the Streets" and "There's a Star for Everyone" are also two noteworthy selections.

The come back album,
This review is from: Love All the Hurt Away (Audio CD)
After years of so-so albums, Aretha Franklin released one of her best albums with two breathtaking gospel flavored covers, «Hold on I'm comin'» and «You can't always get what you want».
