I really enjoyed this book. It was very helpful with dealing with my boyfriend whose was just released. He is on parole for three years. I really feel that reading this book will keep him from going back. I am trying to be a strong black woman and stick by him; but it is a difficult process. The system has changed him so much. It is like he is a different person after five years. I really need more advice. Thank you.

I would recommend this book to anyone trying to love and inspire a man after prison. I liked this book because it contains real life situations and stories. There are no "pretty" pictures painted for you, just the facts. A very easy read.

Although I can't say I got a lot of advice from the book, I can contest that the book holds truth within it. I still believe all the waiting wives and girlfriends, or family and friends a should read this book. It may help you to understand some of the challenges.

I thought the book was easy to comprehend and it was written in a frank way. This book is excellent for women whose men are returning home. The author is candid and discusses the games men play on the women who tend to believe their men without examining the facts of a situation. To me it is good information for a woman who is in a fantasy world, it offers her valuable insight so she can keep
her man from returning to prison and keep her dignity and respect.
I wish that he would have talked more about women subjecting their
kids to men they don't realy know and marry them while they are
in prison.

For every woman wondering what to do & how to prepare for her man being released, this book is a great handbook. The author (who was once incarcerated)is very informative with letting you know how to make the transition of your man coming home a very smooth one.

The book was an eye opener for me. Everything I went through with my loved one was extremely new and very foreign to me. I came across this book at a time of desperation and in dire need of honesty and an understanding of how to support my loved one. This book was all that and more. The book gives the good and the bad and leaves it to the reader to make their own educated choice. Thank you to all that openly shared and contributed.

I ordered this book trying to find some help for my situation with my boyfriend. I highly recommend this book to everyone with a loved one in prison, be it your boyfriend, husband, brother, or son. I am recommending this book to his mother as well. Lots of information that's very helpful and also success stories from other women in our situation is included. This is a must have book for anyone loving an inmate.
