....Unless you really like "smooth jazz" better than the real thing. I heard Rachel explain on the radio that her record label wouldn't let her do what she really wanted on this recording, so don't blame her! This is okay for its type, but to hear what an amazing artist she is, buy "A Room of One's Own" or "On The Milkyway Express."

If you like Keiko Matsui, Hiroko Kokubu or Bob Mamet there is a strong chance you will enjoy this. Whilst not exploring any new territory it is an accomplished and satisfying musical experience from Rachel. Her rendition of Alanis Morissette's Head Over Feet is interesting and I look forward to her next release. She was recommended to me by a visitor to my website and I'm glad he did!

If you are looking for nice music to accompany a evening meal - this is the perfect CD. The music flows in a sweet patter of lovely sound, she reminds me slightly of Brian Culberson. The music itself is rather faceless and molds itself upon certain repeated formulas, but that is not necessarily a fault. Once in the atmosphere of this, you feel empty when the music stops.

Just boring compared to the dept of good and evil disc..This is just muzac really...The whole sex kitten thing was odd..The music was ok but not really her best work I think..
Her "Moon At the Window" disc and her "Dept Of Good And Evil" recordings with that trio were her best recordings in terms of set and fire..This one just doesn't do it for me..No offense...

We are pleased with Love is the Power, and appreciate the type of music Rachel has defined as jazzy hip-hop. We purchased the CD after seeing Rachel and the band perform in her home town of Denville, NJ. The selections are good to relax with.

This is my first encounter with Rachel Z and I am back at this website to check and see if she had anymore music. This CD was definitely worth the money and I enjoy it. I would buy other CD's from this artist and while the CD is not really anything new it is a pleasure to sit back and enjoy it!

I recently saw Rachel Z perform on BET and she was pretty good. So based on what I heard I bought her CD and I was really dissapointed. I expected to hear some traditional trio style jazz but got this really tired contemporary, beat machine style stuff. I was so mad that I wasted my money on this CD I threw the CD cover and all, off the side of the highway. This will teach me to purchase something without coming here first to sample it.

Loved it! It was cool and hot at the same time and that we will be hearing more from this artist in the near future.

I have not heard a female keyboardist this good since Keiko Matsui. I too saw Rachel on BET on Jazz and enjoyed her traditional jazz set up. But I knew ahead of time that she was a smooth jazz artist. I am impressed at any smooth jazz artist who is capable to play in the old acoustic combo set. I love the album, especially tracks 1-3.
