4.0 out of 5 stars Love it
I am in my early 20s and absolutely love these patterns! Ed Hardy introduced tattoos to fashion but if you are looking for something like his posters or clothing, you won't find it in this book. It is more the "tattoos" themselves. The skulls, flowers, little devil, etc.
The colors are great. Amazon does a great book preview and google has a couple more pages. The...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in the format
I was very excited that this book was available for Kindle, as I am very impulsive and I didn't want to wait to receive it in the mail! However, when viewing it on either my Kindle, iPhone, or Macbook Pro, the images are not in a high enough quality to distinguish between the different symbols or even the squares on the chart itself. I am so disappointed... I just...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in the format, January 17, 2011

I was very excited that this book was available for Kindle, as I am very impulsive and I didn't want to wait to receive it in the mail! However, when viewing it on either my Kindle, iPhone, or Macbook Pro, the images are not in a high enough quality to distinguish between the different symbols or even the squares on the chart itself. I am so disappointed... I just bought all the supplies to start one of the projects, too!
Great book, but completely and utterly useless as an ebook.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it, December 22, 2010

This review is from: Love Kills Slowly Cross-Stitch: 30 Cross-Stitch Patterns from Ed Hardy (Paperback)
The only complaint I have is that my eyesight is bad and I can't read all of the symbols. But that is personal preference. It is a great break from the girly patterns I have been doing and I combined them into one large collage pattern. It follows DMC thread and there are quite a bit of patterns to chose from and they always show the finished product.
It is also great if you are looking for something to stitch for friends/boyfriend. My boyfriend loves poker and I have been searching forever for something like "Gambling Man" on the back cover. And I just finished the skull with Hawaiian flowers to cover up a rip in the top of my pants and have received tons of compliments! There is also a skull spider that I stitched onto my workout bag that everyone compliments and can't believe it is cross stitched!
If you are new to cross stitch this book is perfect for you. If you are an experienced stitcher and want a weekend project, this is for you.
Ed Hardy needs to come out with another one already! It is great and a breath of fresh air for younger stitchers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshingly Different, December 10, 2010

"Love Kills Slowly Cross-Stitch" is a great book. Refreshingly different for those of us who are sick of sweetsy-cutesy patterns. Simple patterns, easy enough for a beginner, and edgy enough to keep die-hards interested. I'm hoping for a book 2 with an even greater variety of choices. Don't hesitate. Get this for your collection. You won't regret it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great designs but don't buy as an ebook, December 31, 2011
I was really happy with this book until I settled down to start stitching and realised how poor the quality of the ebook is.
Have returned the book as it is impossible to use any of the designs in this form. Will consider buying in physical form as there are some exciting designs to pick from.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun designs. A DMC oriented book. Epub format is ok., December 14, 2011
This review is from: Love Kills Slowly Cross-Stitch: 30 Cross-Stitch Patterns from Ed Hardy (Paperback)
I got this on epub format from my library. The list of DMC threads is good, just names and numbers as you can see from the preview and there is no effort made for other threads or even wools so it is limiting; you would have to make your own numerical comparisons. But since with the epub I cannot see the actual stitches -- how they fall, how many, full or partial etc.; I can only comment generically on the stitch layout. The 30 designs are either a hit or miss; some look great, others a bit plain but there is enough variation that you should be able to find plenty you would like. But since the publisher also releases this book via the epub format, if you are interested in the book I would ignore that. While offered is a color layout and a black white stitch layout, reading the b&w stitch layout is very difficult to read on the screen but if you take a snap shot of the page, ( uploaded such a sample)and then zoom in and then print from there it is doable but I think that the publisher should have made the b&ws in the book larger and clearer to start so all you would have to do it hit the print button and get stitching.

The cross stitch patterns in this book are wonderful. The only problem I had is that they are really big so that you cannot combine the different designs on one pillow size piece of cloth. I used Aida cloth & they turned out really cute.

This pattern book was really well done. The colors, instructions, and variety were very good. I got it as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She loved it and has already started a project.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Kindle Sample, January 25, 2011

I requested a sample of this book before buying it for the Kindle. Unfortunately the sample doesn't include any of the cross stitch charts so I can't tell if they're usable or not. Judging by the other Kindle reviewer's experience, I won't be getting this, but I wish I could tell for myself.
