Dannii's Debut, July 4, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Love & Kisses (Audio CD)
Dannii's debut! Some of the songs sound outdated, but 80's, Dannii, and Kylie fans will love it. It's a nice first album showing that Dannii just wants to have fun. from Love and kisses to the very 70's baby love the Love and Kisses album keeps you dancing. If you don't own this album, buy it. It's a piece of pop history.

* B side on 'Jump To The Beat'.
+ Kylie co-wrote this track for Dannii's first solo release.
LOVE & KISSES is Dannii's 1991 debut album and hosts the singles 'Love And Kisses', 'Success', 'Jump To The Beat', 'Baby Love' and 'I Don't Wanna Take This Pain'.
OK: A few of the tracks haven't aged well ("We ain't in MacDonalds baby, so what's your beef?"), but most of them are still enjoyable, and a few still sound as good now as they did in 1991.
Also added to this edition is Dannii's first B side 'Hallucination'. This track is club orientated and is still current. It could fit nicely on GIRL or even NEON NIGHTS.

Not a bad album but later efforts were much better!, September 3, 2004
This was Dannii's debut album which went gold in UK. It is mostly very poppy and features her dance-pop hits "Success" "Jump to the beat" and the title track, "Love and Kisses". On "Love Traffic", Dannii sings the lyrics that sister Kylie wrote, and it captures Dannii's charismatic, cheeky vocal charms perfectly.
On this album, Dannii sounds very young and immature and the music mirrors this. It works though on tracks like "Attitude" and "Call to your heart". Tracks like "So hard to forget" and "Party Jam" are a little bit too cheesy for my liking, but they are not too bad.
Ballad "True Lovers" is one of the best tracks here, and also featured is the funky, classy smash "Baby Love" (which heralded Dannii's maturing image.) Hit single "I don't wanna take this pain" is so different to everything else on this album and it would've been better suited to her 2nd, mature album, "Get Into You". It has a slow, funky beat with a dramatic background.
All in all, this album is good but is by no means Dannii's best album. Thankfully, after this effort, she matured and became a credible dance artist and released the superior "Girl" and "Neon Nights". Her 2nd album "Get Into You" is great also, but for different reasons; it is soulful and "USA" sounding.
