Faced with the prospect of losing the family estate because of the compulsive gambling of one of her fast-living brothers, Aurora Ramsay agrees to teach art connoisseur Miles Fletcher the finer points of land management in return for his assistance in attracting a wealthy husband. However, when her plan actually succeeds, Aurora is forced to make some unexpected choices. This traditional Regency provides some interesting insights into the popular art of the period and does an excellent job of depicting the pleasures and problems of bucolic British life. Although the characters and plot have promise, the story lacks energy and as a result its potential is never fully realized. Fairchild (Miss Dornton's Hero, Signet Regency, 1995) lives in Dallas.

With a degree in advertising from North Texas State University, Fairchild worked for ten years in advertising before writing full-time. i LOVED this book when i 1st read it. it rox! i've read it about...5 times. not all at once! lol. if u r a romantic reader this is the book to get. trust me on this one. my mom liked it also. the description that amazon provided is pretty good. so read it if u want to know what its about. get this book u will not be disapointed!
