This book gives you simple things you can do to stay healthy. My favorite one is to climb 200 stairs a day. I live in a 3 story house and am able to easily do this! I am 63 years-old and find the changes he recommends are so simple to add into my daily life. This is a must read for every adult, no matter how healthy you think you are.

Loved this book. I'm 56 and the exercises in this book are excellent. I also like the fact that it's not all or none...I can eat well 80% of the time. Also, the fact that just staying active most of the time goes a long way. The relaxation techniques are priceless. Must read this book cover to cover as at it's conclusion, it will put everything into perspective.

In his book _Love Laugh and Eat_, Dr. John Tickell (how can that last name not make you smile?) shares the optimal health essentials he has learned from 25 years of studying the Okinawans (aka: "the healthiest people on Earth"). As he explains:

"It's time to rethink the phrase `life expectancy' and change it to `health expectancy.' Not how long you think you're going to *live,* but how long you expect to be *healthy.* Just like the Okinwanas. This book is designed to help you do just that. I've boiled down all the research and principles of these wonderful people into a practical, doable every time program to help you change your life." (pp. 4-5)

This program uses his three-pronged ACE approach, which combines healthy activity, coping, and exercise tools and techniques. The book provides straight-forward and easy-to-adopt ways to incorporate these components into your life. The first part of the book breaks down the core components of the ACE program, the second part provides skills on how to implement them, and the third part includes specific meal plans and guidelines for daily ACE living.

If you're just starting to re-vamp your health habits, this book is a great start. But, if you've been in this zone for a while, much of the book may be review. Whatever the case, you really can't go wrong with continuing to improve the ways you love, laugh, and eat!

There is really not much new here. Love, Laugh, and Eat is another book about activity and healthy eating for a healthy life. I guess it doesn't hurt to be reminded, but there are better books out there.
