1.0 out of 5 stars "Everything Old is New Again"
With the movie "The Secret" and The Law of Attraction, being so popular at the moment, even though this book was written in the early 1900's, it is still quite pertinent. Very helpful in teaching ways to manifest good in one's life.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of Ernest Holmes' beliefs and wisdom!, July 13, 2004

This book is of immense value! It is not a religious book, but rather a philosophy and psychology and more of a positive thinking New Thought book. It has become my favourite Ernest Holmes book in my collection. If you don't have time to read Science Of Mind, which is a very thick book, then read this first for a concise version where he talks about the principles of Science of Mind in an informal way. Some chapters are taken from his lectures, and I think he expresses his ideas very well in this book. It covers beliefs, attitudes and wisdom that you may have never read from his other more formal books like Science Of Mind, "This Thing Called You" or "Creative Mind and Success".

There is a questions and answers part in each chapter where he answers questions. This is the part which I like the most. He talks about things which he never revealed in other books, more personal issues and how he overcame his own beliefs of poverty etc. Then each chapter ends with him affirming - I learn from this part how he actually takes up an affirmation, how he neutralizes all doubts and fears and opposing thought, and how he makes the affirmation undeniable and undoubtable.

The first time I read this book, I followed his method of affirming for my health, and I kept repeating it, and in 10 minutes I can see and feel improvement! I was filled with joy and energy. Then I took up a thought for someone and affirming goodness and happiness into her life, and she calls immediately after that in a joyful voice from another country! Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars The most Important Book for the New Millennium!, February 15, 2001
By
This review is from: Love and Law: The Unpublished Teachings of Ernest Holmes (Hardcover)
This book is filled with the unpublished teachings of Dr. Ernest Holmes, author of the Science of Mind and Founder of the Religious Science movement. As you read this book you feel a sense of sitting in the classroom with Dr. Holmes. His inspiration, enthusiasm and dedication to Truth is infectious! This is a brilliantly edited masterpiece. This book truly illustrates why the Science of Mind is the Philosophy for the New Millennium. No one has given us the Truth of Being as clearly and easily understood as Dr. Holmes since Jesus. Thank you and bless you, Marilyn Leo!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Answers to Celestine Prophecy, February 27, 2006
Ernest Holmes was truly a man inspired by God. He succintly and methodically informs, teaches and demonstrates his teachings. The Mind of God is truly our mind. Awareness is everything. Ernest Holmes has turned religion into methodical science and law. Love is law. A must read for inquisitive minds seeking more of God and a clearer spiritual walk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Holmes Triumph, April 22, 2011

This review is from: Love and Law (Paperback)
Concepts are hard to crystalize in a few words, but Ernest Holmes has helped me to turn my mental and spiritual realms around completely. Having at one time been a member of Religious Science and Science of Mind I had forgotten how fundamentally incredible Holmes' teachings are. I have rediscovered his wonderful writings and teachings at a time and stage in my life that brings with it an entirely different viewpoint and now what I read of Holmes is so much more meaningful and poignant. ANY of the books Holmes has wrtten is a virtual treasure trove of brilliant thinking and philosophy. No matter which book of his you purchase it will be the right book. There is not definite order or sequence for reading his books as each reinforces the others. That is how perfect and tight is all is. Get Holmes' writing in your life and experience a wonderfully enhanced life.

Ernest Holmes is at his best in this book. He is teaching a class week to week and one gets the sense that you are in the class with the
others moving ahead in a very supportive way. I am finding points in this book particularly that I haven't found in some of the others.

I highly recommend Love and Love.

4.0 out of 5 stars inspirational mindfullness, December 5, 2009

This review is from: Love and Law (Paperback)
The interesting thing about this book is it is based on his first lectures almost verbatim. So, instead of a phrase or short story you might read in the pamphlet books, you get the full lecture. It's not edited or watered down, so ,sometimes their is repetition mostly to get a point across. I really enjoy reading his version of the universal laws; what you say and think and feel is what you get. He gives you a road map to follow that works. At least one Holmes book should be in everyone's library. His teachings are timeless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Water for the Thirsty, December 17, 2008
By
I love this work. It changed my mind on Ernest Holmes work. I had read his Science of Mind and understood that emotion had no part in applying the universal laws. But this work countered that idea and brought it to balance in my mind. It also sent me to work on Thomas Trowards works. I am not a metaphysician and never wanted to read these authors. How sorely mistaken I was. Absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this work, or any that either Ernest Holmes or Thomas Troward, to anyone of any faith that wants to change their life without having to change their religion whether it be a formal religion, informal, or "capitalism."

5.0 out of 5 stars Hidden Power, April 23, 2008
By
This book had a bigger impact on me than most other books I've ever read in 45 years. Although Homes has a unique way of speaking, that sometimes interfered with comprehension (he makes up words LOL), the meaning came through, and it rocked me to the core. This goes beyond The Secret, and any other mainstream media out there related to The Law of Attraction. This isn't new--it's old hat. He's been talking about this for many decades. The case histories prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that what we believe shapes our reality. I don't understand why this man's stuff isn't better known. It should be.
