4.0 out of 5 stars Lezlie is a miracle, October 10, 2001
This review is from: With Love (Audio CD)
I was very surpised hearing this CD. Lezlie gives a splendid version of Miracles, a beautiful song by Buddy Greco. I love her interpretation of Here's to life and Fever. This is great stuff!

4.0 out of 5 stars She sings and looks like an Angel!, April 5, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: With Love (Audio CD)
Lezlie Anders has a wonderfully pleasing voice. She has an impressive three octave range. A pure tone and superb diction. There are many highlights here. The finest selections are "Here's To Life," "Cry Me A River," and "Perfect." The latter is a beautiful, rarely recorded song by Ann Hampton Calloway. Lezlie sings it perfectly, and should have had a #1 hit on her hands. Few singers can hold a candle to Miss Peggy Lee's original rendition of "Fever." Lezlie's version is hot and fun... she does Lee justice!

How many more renditions of 'Cry Me A River' can you take after you've heard both Julie London and Barbra Streisand? I keep swearing I won't buy another release covering more than five 'classic' tracks. Yet any artist choosing to include an Anne Hampton Callaway song in their repertoire must be worth at least a listen. Lezlie is. And then some. Essentially an 'easy listening' vocalist Ms Anders is ideal company for a low lit mellow evening at home. I can imagine the reaction of Buddy Greco on first hearing Lezlie sing; a voice that begged for a showcase recording. That's exactly what "With Love" is. A perfectly selected a mix of 'classics' and lesser known numbers. I guess in reply to my own opening question, the answer is - in Lezlie's case - at least one more.
