5.0 out of 5 stars Straightforward and action-oriented, October 18, 2006

This review is from: Love Letters to a Child: A Resource for Parents and Grandparents (Paperback)
This book was a quick and inspirational read. It set out an action plan for something I've been drawn to for quite some time - keeping a journal of my children's milestones and achievements. Not just thinking about it, but actually doing it!

The author shares heartfelt entries from her own journals to her three children. Her personal sharing kept me engaged.

Here are several concrete suggestions I found helpful:
1) It is better to do something, even if imperfect, rather than not to do it at all.
2) Keep a separate book for each child.
3) Keep all entries positive so the books are relished by their recipients.
4) Have the journals be "open", that is, the children can read them at any time and even add their own entries. This provides incentive to keep the project going.
