5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!
Maybe a more detailed review to come later, but I'm excited so this is a quick little review filled with my euphoria. Songwriter Leslie Satcher totally delivers. 3.0 out of 5 stars An ok CD
Most of the songs on this CD are drippy, or just downright dreadful. A few are catchy, but none match the energy of "Texarkana". If this extremely talented singer could harness that energy and forget the throwaway B-side stuff, she'd be a mainstay on country radio. Buy this for "Texarkana", if you don't mind paying $... for a single!!!

Maybe a more detailed review to come later, but I'm excited so this is a quick little review filled with my euphoria. Songwriter Leslie Satcher totally delivers. The highlight tracks include "Love Letters From Old Mexico," (backed by the lighter than air harmonies of Alison Krauss and Emmylou Harris), "Burn me Down," "Every Time It Rains," "Texarkana," and her excellent cover of "Ode to Billie Joe." She breaks the streak of songwriters putting out subpar versions of their own music, and this should be a sweet breath of fresh air for Nashville. Proof that songwriters can sing their own music, and quite well. You probably haven't heard of Leslie Winn Satcher, but you will soon---get this and be a trendsetter!

Ms Satcher does a bang up job on this debut cd. From Letters From Old Mexico to Texarkana this cd is awesome. Along with the rest of the cd the songs I like best are Slow Way Home, Going Down Hard, Ode to Billie Joe, Burn Me Down,& Look Who's Talking. Keep up the good work.

I just heard this album on a radio station in Ft. Worth, TX and it was awesome! I love to hear true country chicks. I thought the songs and lyrics were catchy and touching. Thanks "The Ranch" for featuring fresh artists with roots. I am going to buy this album!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Great CD., February 28, 2001

It's so difficult these days to find a female country singer that doesn't want to be like Faith Hill. Leslie Satcher is a definite exception. Don't get me wrong, I like Faith as much as the next person, but c'mon, it's not real country. Satcher was originally just a writer, but decided to sing on her own this time, and thank God. Her delicate voice has just the right level of emotion throughout. From the catchy "Love Letters From Old Mexico" to the wonderful cover of "Ode to Billie Joe," Satcher's smooth melodic voice carries each heart-felt tune perfectly. On a couple of tracks, she uses the amazing voices of Alison Krauss and Emmylou Harris to back her up. Not that she needs any help, mind you. The disc also has a refreshing down-home feel to it that leaves you with a sort of "aaaaah" feeling. I'm really glad to see that there are still female country singers out there willing to sing real country music, and if this is the direction it's headed, count me in.

At the Grand Ole Opry and she really stood out. High energy, tight harmony, star power. I didn't know who she was but asked for the CD when it came out. Always like to see people interpret their own music, over covers.

Do see her live if you can. Good production values on the CD BTW.

I have been listening to Country Music since I was a child. In the 1970s, I loved Emmylou, Linda Ronstadt and several others, and always Merle Haggard. I will always adore these people who sing with their very souls and the new people coming up today, are great as well. I will always be a fan! Come on, Leslie, make another one! Love Letters is fantastic! I know Vince Gill is a friend, so get him on the next album too!
