5.0 out of 5 stars Gerlach scores again!
Although written before Lake Mountain, Love Lies Dying is Bloodletting Press's second Steve Gerlach release and every bit as tense, involving, explicit and brilliant as its predecessor. This is a book of 3s - 3 words in the title, 3 parts to the book and 3 characters... yes, only 3 characters, but take my word for it, you'll only notice when you look back after finishing...

1.0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE!
This book sucks! I am a big fan of Ray Garton and Richard Laymon so I figured this book would be similar to them. I was wrong. The writing is weak and the story is worse. I was sucked into the first two chapters then when things start going wrong, it is so far fetched that it makes it difficult to believe. No one would follow the path that these idiots do in the book...

This review is from: Love Lies Dying (Hardcover)
Although written before Lake Mountain, Love Lies Dying is Bloodletting Press's second Steve Gerlach release and every bit as tense, involving, explicit and brilliant as its predecessor. This is a book of 3s - 3 words in the title, 3 parts to the book and 3 characters... yes, only 3 characters, but take my word for it, you'll only notice when you look back after finishing the book. Other people are mentioned but never seen, and yet Gerlach breaths more life and depth into these non-appearing characters than many writers do in their main protagonists. You will care about what happens to them, even though you never meet them. Needless to say, the 3 characters you do meet are so well drawn you will be helpless to resist as you are dragged along through every agonising, bloody, sexually charged second of their adventure.

This is not a book for the easily shocked, but then Steve Gerlach's books never are. However, for those of us who enjoy a scary, adult, rollercoaster ride of thrills and horror I highly recommend you buy Love Lies Dying. I'm already looking forward to the promised release of the kind-of-sequel, Hunting Zoe, from Bloodletting Press in the near future.

This is the third Steve Gerlach book I've read (Rage and Lake Mountain were the other 2) and he has yet to put a foot wrong. I am an unashamed fan!

I was sucked into the first two chapters then when things start going wrong, it is so far fetched that it makes it difficult to believe. No one would follow the path that these idiots do in the book. It makes it too unbelievable to be drawn in and "scared" for what might happen next, like Laymon and Garton can do.

I only paid $2.99 for it but it is electronic so I can't use it to start a fire. Oh well.
