Saw Kanye perform this song at the VMA's and thought it was awesome. At some point I kept waiting for a great guitar lick to come in, but it never did. That's dissapointing, this song could have really benefited from it. Maybe in the future we'll see a remix? Still this song is very strong on it's own.

2 parts to this song. The verse and chorus.
1 change to the verse - transposed 1 octave.

The verse consists of an 808-style drum pattern, very simplistic.
the verse also has a very simple piano melody that consists of 4 chords, again transposed.

The chorus enters a very, very basic "african" drum pattern to the mix.

The vocals are typify the current trend of using auto-tune to make you sound like you might or might
not be able to sing.

He also has some pretty heavy distortion at times on them. Quite frankly they sound like crap.
Also, the icing on the cake, the lyrics are basic Kanye style, so it really lames up the song.

All in all, if you NEVER knew this was Kanye, would you even bother with this song? Ask yourself this seriously about all music, and re-evaluate why you buy it. Because people going ape-s over this song just doesn't make sense.

When the song finally picks up at the end, its good, but starts off too slow. I guess hes trying to fuse blues in with his hop-hop style because the bass is mostly bluesy. Needs guitar, more percussion sooner rather then later; this seems rushed, unfinished.

Heard this song on the radio and liked it. The MP3 from Amazon sounds like trash, though. What a waste of 79 cents. Wish I could give it 0 stars.

This version has DJ white owl's voice on parts of it and part of the song is messed up.DON'T BUY THIS MP3! I am pissed granted its only 89 cents Im out but amazon wont refund mp3 purchases.

I am an average Kanye West fan. "The College Dropout" was a classic hip-hop album, "Late Registration" was dope, and "Graduation" had its fair share of tracks.

Kanye is currently preparing to release his fourth LP, scheduled to be titled "808 And Heartbreak", and he recently released the first single for the album, "Love Lockdown".

Kanye sings through the entire song using auto-tone, no rapping at all. And I can safely say that this is his worst single yet. The beat is the only thing good about the song, in my opinion. I understand that Kanye is trying to be versatile, but this is the wrong way to go. He should stick to what he does best; rapping.

I'm sure there's alot of MTV nutriders here who will rate this review unhelpful and send me a hate comment, but it doesn't matter to me. This song is no good. Hopefully the album will be much better than this, because if the album stays on this level, then Mr. West can just go right back to sleep.

I like most of his music - he is a good rapper and really good producer, but my man can't sing. This song requires singing talent and he has none. I saw him perform on Ellen and the vocals were abysmal. He is so bad at singing he wouldn't make it to Hollywood on American Idol. Which is why, I am guessing, they added the synthesizers -- to disguise his anemic and tone deaf vocals. He should stick to rapping and producing.

Ok, so I still liked most of the songs, but not nearly as much as his older CD's. I say skip the CD and just purchase the songs that you like individually.

At first, I didn't know what to think. I wasn't sure if I liked it or hated it. It grew on me and is one of my favorite songs.

Actually I find the Album Quite Good and am very amazed at the simplicity but yet complexity of this Album. The Synthesizer is the same as Laurie Anderson has employed in the past and her "music" was always extremely Interesting.
