The artwork is terrific - on a variety of levels. First of all, it's gorgeous and full of energy. The detail is astounding. Second, it's amazing to FINALLY see these outfits in color after only seeing them in black and white since what seems like the dawn of time. And the book keeps it all fun and lively! I highly recommend it - and the price is right. Buy two - one to keep and the other to cut up and play with.

If you love Lucy, you'll just love this. Allan Glaser has put together a delightful, nostalgic panorama of costume designs from some of the best of Lucille Ball's onscreen moments. He has written an excellent introduction full of fun Lucy costume facts, and provides detailed commentary throughout the book. Photos from some of the many I Love Lucy episodes abound in this charming volume. Shown in conjunction with the paper doll designs, this puts the costumes into their historical context. Glaser also helpfully notes the specific episodes in which each design appeared. Illustrator Rick Carl outdoes himself with eye-catching recreations based on the original costume designs, most of them by Academy Award winner Elois Jenssen.

All in all, if you love Lucy, this is a book for one of those "reserved" spots on your bookshelf--reserved for the best.

I've been watching I LOVE LUCY for years and never knew what I'd been missing until I bought this! Allan Glaser's book gives a peek at the clothes Lucy actually wore in color (after only seeing them in black & white on tv) and in the most wonderful detail. This is a real treasure.

I think this is such an awesome book, especially if you are a huge Lucille Ball fan like I am. Rick Carl illustrated all the pictures and he did a marvelous job. All the beautiful dresses Lucille Ball wore on I Love Lucy were all illustrated just the way you would imagine it if the show had been in color. I recomend this book to everyone who likes I Love Lucy. It would be a wonderful gift for anyone.

Nicely done and fun to have all the favorite costumes. I don't cut them out and I don't play with paperdolls any more, I just love having them around.

If you're a Lucy fan, get ready for some awesome fun. You can play with Lucy and some of her favorite costumes -- putting them all correctly in the context of the show.

It's time for you to Love Lucy in vibrant color, while learning a little more about the episodes. I can't imagine a more beautiful and accurate presentation of Lucille Ball's best TV costumes.

These paper dolls are awesome. Of course, I'm not going to play with them, although I want to. I'm just collecting them. A part of me wants to cut them out and sit down and play. They are wonderful!

This was my first purchase of a used item through Amazon that was not a domestic purchase. The book came from the UK via Amazon and I knew that I hadn't fond it in time to order it so it would arrive by Christmas. Since this was a present for my wife, I gave her a printout of the cover in a card and she was thrilled. The description did not do the book justice... I was a little concerned that since it was a used paperdoll book it may be cut up a little and the description said that the cover was in "good" shape...in fact when i got it it looks brand new! It came within two week after Christmas as promised.

What I especially liked about this paperdoll book compared to others that I have is that there is information about the show's wardrobe and how Lucy's look evolved during the run of the show. There are also lots of pictures showing Lucy wearing the outfits in different episodes of the show and that adds to it. I wouldn't buy this to cut up and actually use for the paperdolls because it should be saved. Ever since I got this book I look for the outfits when I watch the reruns on TV Land on the weekends.
