5.0 out of 5 stars Christian music the way it should be done, December 26, 2005

Emocore?
Wow.
That's the worst label for a band I've ever heard.

Still Remains are masters at what they do. Everything fits together quite nicely. They're lyrics can be considered slightly emo, but they are just beautiful.

The lyrics for the songs "Recovery" and "I Can Revive Him With My Own Hands" are the best on the cd. They're heartfelt and pretty.

This album is in my top 10. These guys know what they're doing, and I can't wait til their next album. I know I won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, May 10, 2006

I don't know why people are listening to new metal bands if they don't like this.

Yes these guys are unmistakably groupable with the in flames killswitch unearth types. One thing they have to offer other than generally strong song writing, is: keyboards! keyboards. Im a sucker. I even like that new found glory song just because of the keyboards.

So anyway this album is basically the strong, active, new wave of metal sounding stuff plus keyboards. I would say that underoath's 'changing of times' comes closest just because there's that vibe of something other than hate or whining buried in the heaviness.

I have narrowed my bands from this general genre down to about 10 now. So maybe if you're open to liking a good chunk of this kind of music, including beands yet unheard as to you, this album could surprise you and be up there with unearth or as i lay dying.....rather than down there with shadows fall (ok thats just a cheap shot).

5.0 out of 5 stars American metal at its finest, June 11, 2005
This review is from: Of Love and Lunacy (Audio CD)
For the past 5 or 6 years i've been really skeptical about anything that's come out on Roadrunner Records. Until recently they've actually signed some good bands (KSE,Agony Scene) and enter Still Remains. They had it up at a listening station at a local record store and I was very impressed, I bought it on the spot, which is something i don't do too often anymore. They have an incredible sound (immediate comparisons Mortal Treason, Zao, In Flames, Bleeding Through, IDT come to mind) they are the whole package when it comes to metal. If you are looking for a cd with great singing, brutal breakdowns, and all around solid musicianship, check these guys out, you won't be disappointed.
