The Beat Strings re an up and coming Iowa Band, dont let that turn you off because they are amazing and this album sounds great, highligts "starlight" "make me a message" "before the light" and "osiris" Defintily worth checking out if you like messy punk (not butt punk) new wave dancey hooks, and i'm pretty sure you guys do.

When Buddy Holly's plane crashed in rural Iowa, it spelled the end of the beginning of Rock and Roll. Nearly 50 years later we've still got rock and roll, but Iowa (silent territory in rock and roll since Buddy Holly's death until Slipknot) might be making a name for itself again through the Beat Strings. Will this signify the beginning of the end or rock and roll? We can only guess.
But until we find out whether rock music dies in Iowa, we really should just enjoy the ride that is Love Lust Wonder, a thrilling romp of pop perfection with a touch of glam, indie, and punk. Few bands have the energy, finesse, and chops that these dudes have and anyone who has seen them live knows that the Beat Strings are really what rock and roll is all about.
It may not be possible to be anymore romantic than the chorus of "Starlight", anymore spontanious than the distortion drenched meltdown of "I Am Meth" or anymore trippy than the coda of "Osiris." Few bands are able to make listeners feel more alive and rooted in the present moment than the Beat Strings.
