Editorial Reviews

From the Artist
Ricky says of Love Many Trust Few, "The album kinda has a thread running through it. A lot of the songs are about running away from places, people, feelings, myself, or a past something I feel I have been doing for a long time. I've also done a lot of driving across America in the last two years, so I suppose a lot of ideas have come from there. There is also stuff about Belfast and Ireland and just about how I’ve seen it change over the years. I used to be very interested in politics but with the world being the way it is, unfortunately I don’t see a leader who inspires any belief in me. I found myself writing songs that were radically different from what I had done in the past, but it came naturally. These songs gave me new areas to explore. Lyrically, they go into other directions. Playing over 200 shows in the past two years, mostly solo and acoustic, I feel that I have improved immeasurably as a vocalist and guitarist, and that has given me the confidence to push my songwriting boundaries even further." "Going back into the studio with Joe Elliott and Ronan McHugh didn’t really take much thought. I didn’t really see any reason to change the line-up; Joe and Ronan have a full comprehension for my work and the direction that I wanted to go in on this next record."

Product Description
A heartland rock gem with punk attitude and instantly memorable hooks. Great songs built on melody, passion and truth never go out of style and for proof look no further than Ricky Warwick's new solo album Love Many Trust Few. This is the second solo album from the Northern Ireland native, formerly of the British punk/hard rock band The Almighty.

Love Many Trust Few was produced by Def Leppard vocalist Joe Elliott, Warwick's longtime friend. Elliott also helmed Warwick's 2003 solo Sanctuary debut Tattoos & Alibis. Elliott makes a guest appearance on Love Many Trust Few as does his Def Leppard bandmate, guitarist Vivian Campbell.

With Love Many Trust Few, Ricky Warwick has done a musical 180. Newly solo and relocated to Los Angeles, Warwick has developed an emotionally direct and pure style all his own, drawing on varied influences including Johnny Cash, Cheap Trick and Tom Petty, not to mention a great love of rock n roll history. "I learned how to play guitar from my dad’s Johnny Cash records," Warwick says, although the MC5 and The Clash were just as influential. Each of Love Many Trust Few’s 14 tracks is a lovingly crafted heartland rock gem, full of instantly memorable hooks and chiming guitars, showcasing Warwick’s talents as a captivating storyteller, mixing confessional lyrics with a touch of punk attitude and a knowing, world-weary swagger. Love Many Trust Few proves there’s life after punk and it doesn’t include selling out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice to listen it..., January 7, 2009
I had listened Ricky's music with The Almighty at the end of the 80's and I loved their first three albums. But this one and "Tattooes and alibis" (the other Rick's solo album I got) ain't got nothing to do with them. Love many... is like being with the Rick singing to you with his acoustic guitar at your living room. It's a personnal album with a lot of great smooth songs, and sometimes you can meet some features from the irish music too. I think is a suitable record for those who love sweet rock music just like Bryan Adams or the most recent Ian Hunter's albums.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!!, November 13, 2005
I have not heard Ricky Warwick's CD's yet and just learned of him last night when he opened for Def Leppard and Bryan Adams. When you first see someone relatively unkown singing by himself with an accoustic guitar and no band opening for popular artists, you think "Oh this can't be good for this guy!" (You know how fickle audiences can be) Well....this guy was great! I loved his style of music and the lyrics. Vivian Campbell came out and sang two songs with Ricky and it was awesome. I brought my 19 yr old son to the concert and he was equally impressed so this guy's music speaks to everyone. We are both looking forward to listening to both Ricky's CD's and look forward to more from this talented artist.

5.0 out of 5 stars mmmmmyeah it's good!!!, June 6, 2005
By Pj "Pen" (MN United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have listened to this CD a lot! Ricky just keeps putting out better and better stuff! This CD has a good variety - instrumental, lyrically and sound, each song is put together very nicely!
There are a few Rockier fun tunes like `Johnny or Elvis?', `Long Way Back To Nowhere' (<-one of my favorites) `I Don't Know What To Do', `Anybody Want To Waste Some Time' and `Ain't Comin' Around'. Great guitar sounds spread nicely throughout the album.
I just love Ricky's voice (talented guy) and he has some very nice backing vocals done by Regina Norton, Emm Gryner, Joe Elliott, and Dick Decent also.
There are songs with upright bass, banjo, and harmonica. `Guilty' has piano and the banjo mix that sounds great and is also one of my favorites. Some of the more mellow songs just add all the more to this album - `Even Now', `Lonely Moon', `New Neighbors Old Fences' `Come Back Home To Me'. `Cold September' is one of my favorites with the acoustic guitar and piano weaving together nicely throughout.
Another favorite that has almost a carousel feel to it is `Learning To Fall'.
Heck, it's just plain worth it every penny and then some, spent on it!!!
