Book Description

Nothing twists you up quite like love…

When she interrupts what looks like a tryst in her fiancé’s office, former heiress Krista James has only one thought: “It’s over!” True, they both signed a marriage contract that didn’t include a love clause. But she’ll be damned if she gives the two-timer the satisfaction of knowing she gave up her heart along with her hand.

How to say goodbye to a man who makes her forget her own name in bed, and all her principles everywhere else? Simple. Run.

CPA-on-the-rise David Ellison thinks everything is perfect. Perfectly planned, perfectly ordered, perfectly moving forward. Until he arrives late—again—for a lunch date. Suddenly he has a broken engagement, a guilty receptionist and a missing fiancée.

Tracking her down is easy. She’s traded their honeymoon tickets for a luxury holiday for one. Reasoning with her? Impossible. Especially since they always seem to end up in bed, in the shower, on the floor…everywhere but at an understanding.

David didn’t follow his woman all the way to Tahiti to return home empty-handed. To get her back, he’s even prepared to empty his heart of all his secrets.

Question is…is he prepared for hers?

2.0 out of 5 stars Pages felt repetitive March 28, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Krista needs to break free of her controlling father, but also has to survive without his money. She meets David who helps her with her finances. Once look at David and she fell in love. David however, was so occupied by his work he saw Krista, but didn't see her. They ended up making a contract to have a relationship which suits busy David and Krista who's falling in love with him. She catches who she thinks is David having sex in his office, but turns out it wasn't him and now he's forced to prove to her how he feels about her. She leaves town and he finds her to save what he thought wasn't a huge relationship to him, but turns out it was.

The story sounded so great and I expect David to win Krista over, but I didn't expect to read the same thing over and over. David had a hard time expressing his feelings. I think I read that twenty times. And funny thing was, the things he thought were the things he should have just said to her, but he didn't know how. He could think them, but not tell her. It got old, but he was clueless about feelings and interacting with her. Krista on the other hand annoyed me. She was in love with David, but pushed him away and then when he did try to tell or show her how he felt, she pushed him away again, but she wanted to spend her life with him and loved him. Confusing. This same thing with them continued for most of the book and it was like reading the same pages over and over. I wanted the book to end. And side story with Taylor, David's secretary was added in and actually added something to read to the story. I gave it 2 stars because there was a story to build on and there were some sweet moments towards the end, but I won't be reading it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars an enjoyable fast paced emotional and laughable read. September 2, 2009
Format:Kindle Edition
Disowned heiress Krista James has been questioning the wisdom of marrying David over the past several weeks - especially since David continuously blows off or is late for planned dates. The sexual marathon taking place in his office could just be the answer to what's been keeping him, but Krista isn't going to stick around and have her heart walked all over again. Sure they signed a marriage contract that covers all the bases - except love.

Up and coming CPA David Ellison is nothing if not practical. He has no people skills and often comes across as brass and offensive in his honesty. Even so Krista sees something in him and has agreed to marry him which makes his life perfect. That is... until he arrives at his office, late for a lunch date with Krista, to find her engagement ring on his desk, his secretary looking very guilty and Krista nowhere to be found.

Hurt and embarrassed by David's betrayal, Krista makes the monumental decision to trade in their economy honeymoon tickets for a luxury vacation in Tahiti - for one. She's determined to take some time to herself and reevaluate her situation and relationship with David. Oh sure, she now knows that it wasn't him that she saw in his office but that doesn't change the fact that he's emotionally closed to her. The only time they connect on any sort of emotional level is during sex - and David certainly knows how to make a woman forget everything but pleasure. However, that's not enough for Krista anymore. She's in love with the man and a marriage of convenience simply isn't what she wants.

Krista's Tahitian vacation has David in a panic. He thought he had all the bases covered with the contract and the well structured life plan but not once did he consider Krista's emotional needs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Me Knots March 26, 2010

When Krista James walks into her fiancé's office to see his assistant in a less-than-innocent position, she leaves her engagement ring and walks out. She and David Ellison may have a contract, but their somewhat unromantic approach to marriage isn't enough for her, especially not now.

David has everything going for him...until he shows up late to his lunch date with Krista and discovers her gone and his assistant looking very guilty. David wastes no time going after Krista to explain, but she's traded their honeymoon tickets for a one-woman trip to Tahiti. Krista may buy his explanation of what she saw, but to win his fiancée back he'll have to show her that what they have is more than just a simple contract. That she ties him up in knots as much as he does her. But Krista's not going to make it easy on him and both have a lot to learn if they want to make it down the aisle.

Love isn't always orderly, but the chaos sure is fun in Love Me Knots. What I loved about this story was that both David and Krista had growing to do in their relationship. Each is partly at fault for the lack of communication between them, and I eagerly read along as they worked through the obstacles on their journey to happily ever after. David and Krista are likeable people and they complement one another in more ways than one. Their romance is filled with steamy encounters and tender moments, making Love Me Knots an enchanting read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Boring read May 9, 2014

This was a boring read that was typical. It didn't hold my interest at all because the story and characters weren't interesting.
