Hi, Small book that is very peaceful to read. I agree...if you reject yourself and cause harm to self there is no point in talking about loving/accepting others. Love self otherwise you have nothing to share. (I agree....God can love us, but we need to love ourselves first to know how to love others.) In order to help another person you need to understand their needs/suffering/desires first. Be a friend to yourself first. The 20 questions near the end of the book are good. Past/future generations are in us. Blame/argue doesn't help...only makes it worse.

Thich Nhat Hanh, in his book of commentaries about love, gives us his wisdom on how to grow in love and wisdom. It is a good meditation book to be used daily instead of rushing through the book because love cannot be rushed. It will take an eternity to complete the circle.

Love cannot be forced and yet love cannot be ignored. It is the sustenance of our existence, without love we would wither and die.

Have you ever loved someone who did not return your love? Have you ever loved another to whom love was returned? Which love is the best love? Of course, the one that has been returned and yet even when one does not return your love, you can still love them because you are love.

Like the song: "God is watching you, from a distance." How long will it take for us to realize this great love of God? It is our choice, opening ourselves to the presence of love, one has to let down one's barriers. God will always be there it is us who have moved away.

Who you are NOW is who you will be in eternity.

The gentle words and wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh affirm a gentle tenderness within, helping me to live this more in my life. This short and sweet guide is just what I need, and I've shared it with another loved one who can benefit as well.

This is a lovely little book with the wisdom and poetic voice of Thich Nhat Hanh. Each page is a treasure, and the book is designed to be read daily, one page at a time - or all the way through, if you prefer. There is a lot to ponder on each page and I've been "sipping slowly" to make the most of my experience.

It's fine if u don't have real pressing issues and u want to go to the next level. Brevity is not amazon's strong suit in reviews.
