The CD which comes in this case is actually A CD by the same name with the picture of a German Beer maid on the front cover. This is very disappointing because the advertised CD is far superior.

Oktoberfest Year Round!!!,
By Hoppy Doppelrocket (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Love the Music of a German Beer Hall (Audio CD)
I've always enjoyed the festival atmosphere of the German Beer Hall and have on more than a few occasions tried to turn the humble Hoppy abode into a hoppin' house of heife-weizen and funlovin' frauleins. This wonderful cd was just the little item I needed to give it that last dose of realism. Believe me, my Chicago born-wife Bessie (or one of my girlfriends) dressed up in a German beermaid custom is a lot more believable with this authentic music in the background (usually we would just put on a Scorpions' cd).The point is this: The German Beer Hall music on this cd is a great start to a fun-lovin, fraulein-... evening. As you'd expect, the festivities start with "A Toast". This is a good time to hoist up the first of several steins of your favorite beverage. Most of the music on this disc is German-beer hall style, but sung in English. You'll get the gist of what fun you should be having with song titles like "Klarinettenmuckl" (I think you KNOW what that's all about), "Love of Life", "Now We Drink One More Bottle of Wine", and the wonderfully suggestive "Flower Pot in Front of the Green Wreath" to close it out. This music will have you toasting and dancing the night away. The only complaint I can make is that the sound quality is not top-notch. Nevertheless, the attractive cover and the 23 songs paying homage to German Beer Hall fun make this a worthy purchase! Enjoy!!!

Be careful. There are two CDs with the same name, this one and one with a german beer maid on the front cover. All of these reviews reflect the cd with the German girl. I bought this cd expecting about 40 tunes, and I got the other CD in this cover (Munich street). I was obviously disappointed. This is a real problem for those who play the CD and are no longer able to return it.

Swing Your Beer Steins..,
By A Customer
This review is from: Love the Music of a German Beer Hall (Audio CD)
This CD certainly sets a festive mood and ambience. There is no mistaking the environment created by a rousing Beer Hall. This music turns any event into the Hofbrau Haus. The overall quality of the CD could be improved; however, it basically only adds to the authenticity of the recording ....

At least one other reviewer has noted a difference between the advertised item and the received item. I actually received this:
[...] ...which was NOT what I wanted! However, the very low price makes it not worth my time or effort to return or exchange the item. Now, as for the actual received CD: The CD case and the physical CD match, listing 39 tracks...however, I can only find 23 tracks. Tracks 1 - 11 are unique; the rest are duplicates of those tracks.

Totally incorrect, but totally awesome.,

The information on this cd is indeed incorrect. 39 tracks are listed, but only about 23 are on the cd. Some of those songs even repeat. That logic has been proven correct. QED
However, I don't care. This cd has some of the best atmosphere for celebrating Oktoberfest I've ever heard. We used to do a radio show on WNUR in Chicago, and this made for fantastic background music. Catchy polkas, loud groups singing, corks popping, raucous toasts, hooting- pure atmosphere. It delivers what the title says. Know these things going in, catch it at a decent price, and hopefully you won't be disappointed. We still use it on trips to the wine country- makes me laugh every time. |
