Reflection of Love...,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Love of My Life: Memoirs of a Love Lost (Kindle Edition)
In reading this book, the most compelling attraction from it's words would be reflection, realization, and relaxation. Though tragically true, it is exceptionally a good source of wisdom for long-distance relationships. For those of you who are struggling, this book helped me realize that I am not alone, and that I can move forward in times of frustration and emotional crisis. Comedic with dramatic twists, Russell illustrates the core meaning of love through the words of one she loved most. I would also add the author's intent of diction further demonstrates the uniqueness of her originality and creativity while displaying a positive reflection after such a catastrophic event.

New Appreciation for Star-Crossed Lovers,
By Jason Matthews "writer/author" (Truckee, California) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Love of My Life: Memoirs of a Love Lost (Kindle Edition)
This is a touching collection of communication between two star-crossed lovers separated by great distances who never got the break they needed, but perhaps what they needed more than anything was to know how strong each others love was. It's also a personal memoir and tribute to a beautiful spirit, Nick Odoyo, who had a wonderful life ahead of him with Angie. There are some moving love poems in it as well. Keep a box of tissues nearby.

Captivating. Page turning. A must read! Just a few words that describe Love of My Life: Memoirs of a Love Lost. Well written and articulate, yet so powerful in its truth. You can feel the writer's heart open and pouring onto the pages with each word. It's as if she invites you into the deepest parts of her soul and says "this is who I am." Written with so much imagery, I felt as if I was there for every moment. As I read, I impatiently waited for each and every form of communication as if Nick (the writer's love) was sending them directly to me. Never lost for a moment, I feel as though I've learned the African culture as Nick teaches Angie. Again, it is chilling how it seems he's speaking directly to you. Characterizing this as a modern day Romeo and Juliet falls much too short of its glory. It encapsulates love at its purest, joy when it can't be described, pain at its ugliest and shouts the message "in Love, no matter the obstacle, all is possible." The perfect mix of drama, romance, comedy and action, this absolutely goes down as one of my favorite reads.

"What's Love Got To Do With It?",

This review is from: Love of My Life: Memoirs of a Love Lost (Kindle Edition)
After reading this e-book, I was moved at just how powerful love is between two people. Two people who lived on opposite sides of the world, who did not know each other, and whose lives were changed immediately and forever because of one other. It's a very powerful testimony of love -- love that has no boundaries or limits and truly emanates from one heart to another. It's an amazing story also of how today's technology with email, voicemail and texting are catalysts that allows one to fall in love with another on the other side of the world and be genuinely in love and just not infatuated. And how this love changes their lives forever...even if they do remain apart. A must read for every human soul-- to give faith where there may not be none, to offer strength to endure life when one has none left and to know the human spirit prevails above all else.
