Oh me, oh my! The title does not lie. Let me say that romance bloomed between my husband and I after I had finished this book. My husband thought it was the work of happy hormones when, in actuality, it was the author's very sound advice. This was the first "sex" book I picked up in years. I've read some erotica but this is truly explicit.

Larry James honestly gives sound advice about the "hows" and the "whys" of lovemaking. He states things in a way that shows he clearly understands a woman's viewpoint and her feelings. I fell just a little bit in love with this man just on the basis of what he says in this book. Much more than a "sex" book, this is a "relationship" book.

If you want things to be better between you and your partner then this will give you the insight to find your own best path together. If you and your partner are new to each other than this book will give you the courage to explore new ground. There are techniques for giving pleasure that are more than equal to the insight with which they are explained. A good choice for enriching every day of the rest of your life.

By the way, this will sound really strange but I have to tell you that I think Larry James looks just like Hank Hill of King of the Hill on Fox. - Leann Arndt, Book Reviewer for Buzz Review News

This reads like a boring instruction manual, and a bad one at that. Believe me, this is for absolute novices only. This one does NOT deliver. There is nothing erotic about his descriptions, on the contrary, they made me yawn; and don't even get me started on his self-help-style, condescending language. How erotic can that be? For example he writes: "Women do not like to be suddenly thrown into bed only to have you roll over on top of her, grunt a few times, come and roll off again.....She needs to be valued for her inner beauty......After you get to the bedroom, she wants and needs foreplay...no less than 20 to 30 minutes of it!" very enlightening - and did i mention the flavour of an instruction manual? There you go guys, it even comes with a timeframe! Or how about that one, it's a winner: "Plan a surprise evening at home together....Express your love by making warm and passionate love on the floor in front of the fireplace. Remember to light the fire. Have several blankets nearby in case you fall asleep." Thanks. Couldn't have thought of that myself. The author has nothing original to say, and "hot" is the last word that comes to mind trying to describe this. To be kept near your bed? I don't think so! If you want 'essentials for extraordinary hot sex', you are better off reading one of Lou Paget's books. Now, she knows how to do it.

Red Hot LoveNotes for Lovers is a tasteful book that directly approaches the subject of creating great sex. Larry James stresses the importance of communication and trust. This is not a book just about positions and techniques. Red Hot LoveNotes gets to the point of what really makes for great sexual and emotional satisfaction. I highly recommend this book for committed monogamous couples. Larry James has really covered the subject. The book is jam packed with terrific ideas and inspiring antidotes.
