I purchased another cookbook from the same author about a month or so ago so when I saw that she has a new one you, I had to get it and I am very happy I snagged it at such a low price. The book is very well written and organized, with easy to follow directions and a clickable TOC (very important for a digital cookbook).

There is a very good variety of dishes included, from beef and chicken to seafoods and casseroles. I've only tried a few of the chicken dishes so far as I was trying to keep it light before the Easter holidays and they turned out wonderfully. My favorite, so far, is the Asian Chicken as it is super fast and easy to prepare without compromising on the taste.

Highly recommended cookbook!

These are a good collection of recipes. I haven't purchased many recipe books but there are definitely some winners in this one! Straight forward and easy to follow.

At first glance, the seafood recipes in this cookbook were of greatest interest to me--they are a favorite at our house. We also love grits, so it was a real treat to find a shrimp and grits recipe that satisfies both cravings. The garlic shrimp recipe reminds me of dinners at a friend's house when I was growing up, at which her caterer father concocted this savory dish--mmm! The southwestern flavor of some of the recipes is a real plus, and adds a special element to this cookbook, which is also well-balanced in terms of the various types of meat and veggie dishes. I look forward to fixing many of these meals!

I have had my eye on this series of books, but thought they would be beyond my cooking skills. One of the reviewers mentioned spaghetti with black olives - LOVE olives - so I took the plunge. I was delighted to see that everything I needed to make the recipe (except the cooked chicken) I already had. Even without the chicken it was soooo good. Unfortunately, brussel spprouts are past their season or I'd be making Dijon Brussel Sprouts next.

Can't believe this came up on the free list today!
I've already read it, made some notes, and completed tomorrow's grocery list.
It has a clickable index so it's super easy to navigate.
These are some great dinner recipes. Some are similar to meals I've made for years, but reading this gave me some new ideas to mix things up a bit more.
Looking forward to cooking dinner tomorrow night. Probably the Maggie's Fav Cabbage and Meatballs. Or the Open Face Potstickers. Or.....

Although I have read similar cookbooks, this cookbook really stand out as the author categorized into several main dishes, such as beef, chicken, pork, seafood and etc. I have tried her chicken recipes and I must it was really good. I can't help to read further and see if I can find some good recipes in later pages. To my surprise, there are very good recipes. I highly recommends anyone who are into prepare some classical main dishes to try this cookbook.

This is one of several cookbooks my wife and I have purchased from what we call the Maggie Collection. We have both enjoyed trying new dinners from these.... but yesterday I had to fend for myself. Let's just say I limit my cooking to coffee. So, I made the shrimp and grits from this book. Yes, I realize I chose this one because it is simple and easy. This was a really tasty dish, and now I'll surprise my wife with my new culinary skills. What to try next.....?

So far I have every book in the Love of Cooking series. So, naturally, I had to have this one, too.

I not only enjoy the recipes, I also enjoy how well they are explained, the tips given throughout and the personal anecdotes as well.

This one - Main Dishes - has many recipes that will, undoubtedly, become favourites for us as well.

I found the "Chicken w/a Tan" recipe title intriguing, so that was what I tried first. She compares it to "blackening - but with a twist". It came out very well - and really, really tasty.

I not only recommend this book, but the entire series as well.
