5.0 out of 5 stars Mitchell and O'Connor together--who could ask for more?, October 5, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Love and Other Catastrophes [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The serious talent of gorgeous up-and-comers Radha Mitchell (High Art, Pitch Black) and Frances O'Connor (Mansfield Park, Kiss or Kill) shines through this sweet film about not taking yourself too seriously. Despite the film's easy-going, day-in-the-life style, the thoughtfulness and spark of these two young actresses gives the audience something more to hold onto besides just witticisms passed between characters, something that makes you smile all over the admittedly predictable ending. A word of caution--give the film a good ten minutes chance. It takes a little while to get off the ground, but Mia (O'Connor) and Danni (Mitchell) make it worth the wait.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great independent depicting real life, August 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Love and Other Catastrophes [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I enjoyed this film for the folowing reasons: it's independent which for me means that they spent more time on character development than flashy clothes and scenery, and being a lesbian in college as well I could relate to Mia and Danni and especially loved how their sexuality wasn't even an issue! I'm looking forward to more great films like this!

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable, light hearted comedy, February 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Love and Other Catastrophes [VHS] (VHS Tape)
A day in the life of five Austrailian college students, each plowing through parts of their lives. This is a short movie and very light -- nothing deep to digest. Radha Mitchell, from High Art (another wonderful film!!) plays Danni, and since she is one of my favourites, I couldn't miss it. I highly recommend this film to anyone that wants to smile at the misadventures or quirks of early twentysomething life.
